He told me he had a new tune, alas I don't have a car. Bob, were you using the factory boost gauge or an external one, my factory won't read over 23, I know some of the 2007 Sky's will, but some won't.

I will do some test tonight with my 2008 Opel GT to make sure I go over 23psi with stock sensors and only race tune.

Until now I had my DIC on metric but switched to provide info with you. I remember I saw on my DIC above 165 kPa which means 1.65 bar nearly 24psi.

64 bit Vista is a problem but only because 64 bit Vista REQUIRES digital signed drivers. You
can bypass that by typing F8 at bootup and selecting "allow non digital signed drivers"- a
real pain in the ass and it apparently does not allways work. I fought that for days and gave up
and used a netbook with XP and all is well. Until 64 bit Vista, vista would ask if it was ok to use
non signed drivers and u could option to answer yes. NO MORE- idiot 64 bit REQUIRES digital signed
drivers.

that's what I thought ... had the same problem with my DashHawk ... just won't work with the 64 bit ... hopefully when Windows 7 comes out things will be better :)

anything on the status on the new tune? Is it done, if so, has anyone tried it?..If you have the stock sensors, would it be considered a free upgrade to the race tune?

The OLD sensors were Bosch (I believe). The NEW Bosch sensors will read beyond 23 PSI as that is what they are for !!! Some folks have said they have seen 25PSI on their DIC with the GMPP sensors and tunes.

I saw 25 on a hot day in Vegas heading to the Drift event.  Looking back I dont remember if it was DIC or Dashhwak though

Just run a virtual version of XP for stuff like this.
I dual boot my Mac and use VMware Fusion to point to the Bootcamp Partion.
Depends on whether or not I want to fully reboot the computer.

I'll be getting my hand on Windows 7 Shortly at work.  Looking forward to it because I hate Vista.

I'm actually looking more forward to Snow Leopard
:)
But to be honest, i will dual my Mac's with Windows 7.
Currently I dual boot them with WinXP for a couple items

Windows 7 for work will be a nice improvement to XP
and will fix all the crap that didn't work well in Vista
Its funny, Server 2008 is the same core as Vista and it's pretty solid.

Not sure how they managed to make Vista so annoying but they did.

Anyway
Back to Topic.
Lots of options to run this Beta.  Microsoft, VMware and Citrix all have free versions of their desktop VM solutions so you could run WinXP 32 under Vista 64 for HP Tuners if you like.

Gonna order my copies Snow Leopard as soon as I can!

But doesn't Windows 7 boast an XP mode?  http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/10things/?p=926  Should solve lots of compatibility issues with things like HP Tuners and DashHawks, etc......  Of course, I'll still run it via boot camp or Parallels..........

Yes, but so does Vista.  Just right click on an executable and look at the property choices you have.
Unfortunately it doesn't work for everything.

BTW- I've played with both Parallels and VMware Fusion.  I've found fusion is better with pointing to a Boot Camp partition.
parallels had issues with it's virtual drivers crashing Boot camp

LG, do you have the stock sensors still? Is the tune you are going to test for stock sensors or is his tune only going to be for the gmpp upgrade or both?

Stock sensors and NO CAT, he can apply what we find out to the CAT tune. The 2007 is a great deal different that the 2008, and we have learned what works on one does not necessarily work on the other. He has a 2008 with no cat, or should I say his wife does, he sends me or Bob or Steve the 2007 tunes to test, Bob and I have no CAT, Steve has an auto. Most likely DBG will get the CAT version to test at some point.

Go ladies, go, we need final tunes, the ball is in your side now, it's your job to test it.  :drive:

Looking forward to this, in about a week I will have dejon ic and solo mach with catless dp on my 2008 stock sensors opel.

I don't want to bother the magician too many times, I hope when I will have to update my race tune because of the mods to include those new tweaks also

Kelu you are one dedicated Speed Freak!!!
IC shipping was pretty low for a huge box of 20 lbs.
The exhaust is by far the winner of the most expensive shipping with a price of more than 3 times than ic shipping tax, even Solo people ship it in 3 different packages to drop the prices.

Yes sir, I can't argue with your label :) I want to make my GT a surprise for many drag racers from my country :)

There was a period last week I got no replys to emails to Lyndon, I think it must have been his ISP. I installed the new tune and have done very little testing, I will say it is much smooooooother and quieter than the last one. Has plenty of power as far as I could tell driving to work.

The 08 tune would be a little more tested since it's run on the dyno on Lydon's personal car. But I'm sure the 07 is fine

Actually not so much since Mrs. Lyndon stole the '08, Lyndon only ever see's it in the driveway at home, he has the '09 Coupe now but not sure what he has done to it. He has one '08 to test with, and several testers with the '07's. It's been this way since the beginning, he did the first tune on my car and had never seen a GXP, and even it made 267 hp. The very first one he ever saw was Breland's and it was a 2007 auto he actually got to tune on the dyno. He drove it and went out and "borrowed" one from a local dealer he had for a year, then gave it back and bought one.
