I just checked the roster and I saw no Kappas except for U-238.

Come on guys, CDC is a great bunch and Bowie is a great venue.

They allow ridealongs, and I would be happy to point the way for any of you.

Its not too late to sign up.  Come on out and play!

I think lilgoat has an excuse as well, something about a dead fuel pump and the dealer having his car. Sounds like a :bs: excuse to me.

It's an older 3 series, not sure what model it is, or what upgrades he's done to it. It's a nice car.

I'm working on it, the part is supposed to be in Friday! Talk about cutting it close. I really want to come and bring my son and the big as GOAT. It all depends on GM. I have plans to do the brakes on my truck that day, but that can easily be changed to Sunday. I could do it in my truck, have 4 wheel steering, huge 305 sticky tires and all, might be fun, heck I might do better than in the Solstice.

You ought to post pics of your truck. What have you got done to it?

(Besides a Wester's tune, of course.)

It has 20" light weight rims HUGE Nitto 305X20X50 tires, an exhaust and CAI, that's about it besides the tune. It will beat a stock Mustang and I have really ticked off quite a few. Came with the 6.0 LS-1, 4 wheel disc's and the Quadrasteer, I have some pics at home, it's the AWD Sierra Denali completely independent suspension all the way around, like a real Hummer. Kind of a cool truck. It has the turning radius of a Saturn Coupe, and it is an extended cab full size. It could auto X, needs front brakes BAD or I might try it just for kicks.

Bring it.  I might be running on street tires in the coupe.  My race tire porter's back is out.

If I get the brakes done Friday night, I might. The front rotors are warped, would not be a pleasant run, it is no fun to drive at the moment.

So, what you're saying is all of your vehicles are breaking at once?

The Harley is back from the shop and runs GREAT! It was just in for a dyno tune. I don't drive the truck much (12 mpg) and the rotors rusted, the new ones came in last night, but yes everything broke at the same time, along with the A/C in the house. It has been a rough couple of weeks. Slowly I am getting back to normal, truck will be squared away this weekend, if I don't get on the bike and say screw it and head for parts west. :D

Yikes. If the weather in VA has been like that here in Maryland the last week or so has been the hottest it's been all summer. Bad time for the A/C to crap out...

A/C got fixed first, Tuesday last week, so it was before it got so hot. It wiped me out as they only take cash and it was not cheap, and it was between paychecks. Thankfully the Solstice repair is free, as was the bike as it was a free follow up, nice kicker to the earlier work a free $500 real time dyno tune. Bike is running the best it ever has. The truck is about $175 in parts and the labor albeit poor quality is free. It is supposed to be very nice for the Auto X sorry I will miss it. I am going to pull the wheels and calipers, paint them take the Harley with my son and his Harley out to my favorite dive in Marshall via backroads, have breakfast, ride some more backroads, go home and put the truck back together (paint will be dry).

You guys missed a good day.  Phil (U-238) came out for the fun.  The course was very tight -- lots of right angle and descending radius turns, and no long straights to stretch out.  Tons of gravel, also.  Hard to go fast.  Still it was a fun low key event.  My dance card for ridealongs in the Coupe on the afternoon runs was filled by a very enthusiastic sweet sixteen year old gal from Texas, but I kicked her out on the last one, and took U-238 for a spin.  Hope to see more of you guys out autoxing soon.

I had a blast. I didn't feel like I ran as well as I did at the PCA event, but I had fun and learned some things. Like Ben mentioned, I got a ride in the coupe. This really helped show me what the "goals" were when running. This helped quite a bit on my final three runs. Plus, it was just plain fun tagging along in a car that handled that well.

Did much better about avoiding entering a corner too hot and pushing through it. Still, I'm really starting to notice how crappy the stock tires are. Ordered some new all-season tires last Friday, and I'm thinking they're likely to be far superior to the stock tires.

In addition to ordering tires, on Friday I also replaced the stock brake fluid with some ATE superblue fluid from DDM. I'm happy to report that I didn't spill a drop throughout the event, even with the reservoir filled to the same level as before. Didn't notice any fade either. Granted, this was nearly as fast a course, but I still got on the brakes pretty hard during my later runs.

And thanks to Ben for riding along with me on my morning runs. Ben makes a great instructor! :brnout:

Yeah, I did lousy. I was really struggling with that course. My last three runs were all 46's. I don't think the car could have done much better than a few seconds faster.
