I think building a bridge from San Diego to Hawaii should be part of the stimulus package.  That way HI and CA Sol / Sky owners can get together more often.  I wonder how much the toll will be....

That would be one hell of a long drive.  My luck they would only build a two lane bridge, one lane in each direction, and then I would get stuck behind some jerk that only wanted to do 45.  Good thing I have two middle fingers, wouldn't want to end up with a repetitive motion injury from only using one hand to give the bird.

I would like to revise my earlier plan of the bridge:

Build it, charge what ever going air fare rate is to go across, and DON'T put a speed limit on it and build it with TWO lanes in each direction so SOLASYLUM can pass that slow F'er. 2500 miles, 120 MPH  What fun!  I guess we will need a few gas stops....  OK, to make the enviromental folks happy, cars must get a minimum 25 mpg to use the bridge, fuel stations will be placed 300 miles apart.

For all those Kappas in the vicinity of the west coast:  :poke: Avoid the I-5 Tejon Pass near Gorman, and Frazier Park, between LA and Bakersfield. It's a speed trap. It's got one of the steepest grades of any interstate in America. Up to 7% for several miles. The CHP officer who pulled me over at the bottom of the grade last week asked: "what's your hurry?" I replied, "the same reason why you're sitting here waiting at the bottom of one of the steepest grades in America: so you can ticket people who have sped up due to this long steep grade."  :worms: He was less then impressed with that answer, and wrote me up for 87 mph!  :banghead: It's a good thing I had slowed way down by the time he saw me.  :D

I would have just told the officer that it was gravity's fault, its harder to break the laws of nature then the laws of man.  Does he write tickets for people headed the other direction because they are driving too slow?
