I took this with the same overall instructor when it was organized by the Northern VA Corvette Club.

Some more info is here:

http://www.drive-lab.com/www.drive-lab.com/Next_Event.html

I can tell you, I had a blast.  Some of you that have already tried AutoX or drifting, etc.,  might find this a bit basic, and they may have changed a few things since it's not being run by the NVCC.  But I did ask the instructor if covertibles would be allowed (the answer was yes) and if helmets are required (and that answer is also yes).  I posted a lot about this back  on the "big board" http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f34/cone-killers-blast-44355/

The cost is $385.  If it's being done like last time, you get to do drills in the am with lots of different instructors, then drive on the track (Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point WV) in the pm with one instructor.  Three short sessions are run, two in your car and one in the instructor's ride.

Now I'm not 100% sure it will be done exactly the same way, so feel free to ask the lead instructor (Miriam) any questions you have before registering.
Her contact info is found at the drive-lab site.

I'm not sure yet if I can do it, but there is a chance both my wife and I might take the course.

An if you've never done anything like this, all I can tell you is DO IT!

PS - if you have kids, stay tuned to drive-lab for "SIR ISAAC NEWTON’S TOTALLY AWESOME DRIVING SCHOOL"  - my son did this, he loved it.  Similar to the Cone Killers, without the track.  But the kids still had fun and learned a lot.

I'll put this on the "maybe" list. Way too far away to tell what my schedule and pocketbook will look like.

LG all of the engineering drawings that I do for work have to be dated that way, 22AUG09.  From what I understand its common practice to do dates that way in Europe too, care to comment on this Kelu?
