I installed elbow pads from JPM.... thank you Shiny I too was not sure if I would like them or not and they do make a difference.

Thanks to JPM for their excellent craftsmanship!

 I'm glad you are pleased with them too.

I painted the front calipers finally.  Tomorrow I do the back ones!

Yay!

Next time you're down this way, want to paint mine? ;)

Sure, yours will be much easier I am sure.  Since I am using a high temp ceramic primer, high temp color match paint and high temp clear.  All sprays.  It's as close to a match to the car as I can get.

Went to a dealership my mechanic recommended to have the 09 BC lowered coupe aligned and was told they didn't think they'd be able to get it on the ramp.  Drove back to my mechanic and told him, and he said well the guy who I wanted to do it isn't working their anymore anyway, so let me give him a call, and set me up with an appointment with him at his new place of employment Monday.

Lesson learned; make sure someone can perform alignment before you've lowered your car.

Got the car back from the paint shop two days late.  Turns out that they had to paint and re-paint the hood 4 times because they messed up and it bubbled on them.  Anyway, the hood and front facia look almost factory and cost me $50 less than they originally said.

So while I was prepping to leave one of the mechanics at the service center invited me to a street race for his local car club of Korean ricers.  I asked our Korean Liaison Officer to come along to translate and a couple of the young Marines caught a cab to the event.

I showed up at this old unused strip of pavement in the middle of nowhere with few houses anywhere near, not knowing that I was going to be the competition for their best driver/fastest car.  It was a Korean something-or-another, front wheel drive and a TON of hardware under the hood.  It was even painted up with sponser stickers on it.  Reportedly, it had been set up to do some official drag racing and was pushing 500hp at the wheels.

I took him in the first race and he got me in the next two.  Not bad considering that I had no idea where the finish line was!  I got him off the line and had at least 2 car leangths on him until 4th gear in all 3 races.  He pretty much sat there and spun out on ever launch (I did in the second race, but still had him).  When I hit fourth gear, he flew passed me like a bat out of hell.  I thought he had nitro or something.  Turns out, he has some sort of two-stage turbo.  They kept calling it high boost and said he has to hit a button for it to kick in.  Never heard of that one.

Anyway, one of the onlookers had a scanner and said the police were coming so we all took off before they got there.  We headed to a different meeting place where I hung out for a while before having to head back to base before the vehicle gate was locked down for the night...  Fun times!

Definitely, although it wouldn't pick up much, it was well into darkness with only a few street lights on the strip.  I'd be using my point and shoot camera that has limted video option and only takes 780p...

If I had another mount, I would put the big camera in the front windshield facing backwards and the small one on the trunk lid facing forward.  Then I could edit them together (well, not me, but someone who knows what the hell their doing!) to get more of a total expirience kind of thing...

Our 4th gear sucks on drag racing being 1:1, on that gear I lost 80% my races
Dual stage turbo means low/high boost settings imho, any electronic boost control can do that.

Pat left GXPsy at home today so I could give her some TLC. Chased down an annoying exhaust clunk and re-torqued the probeam, which really needed re-torquing. If weather permits the interior will get a thorough cleaning this afternoon, although thunderstorms are the forecast.

I returned the left trunk hinge that I ended up not needing after all and the body shop is ordering the left torque rod. Which means net cost installed after the return is about $50 which is good news! And will only take about two hours to do. :yay:

Normally a post like this would be removed from the forum.  Since this has happened on foreign soil, it will remain.

This by no means, indicates I condone street racing.  Take it to the track, it's much safer and a lot of fun.
