Custom system
« on: December 18, 2009, 08:41:40 PM »
Here is why I think SP is SO great;

[ Guests cannot view attachments ] The entire shipment was 45 pounds. CRAZY !!!   :gaah: :gaah: 30 pounds of stuff to ship 15 pounds of product !!!!

[ Guests cannot view attachments ] Here's the GOOD stuff. This is a front pipe back system to replace a MagnaFlow system. I need to make power, reduce weight, and make "sound" at SCCA events. Props to Shabby for taking his car to Jeff (@ SP) to be a mule to test fit this mess for me. Thanks to Dave (shabby) and Jeff (@ SP) for the extra effort.

I'll finish it if it kills me. And it may. Already had my right knee drained on Wednesday. Oooo, THAT is ALWAYS fun. But at least my knee bends some. On 12-23 I find out when it gets scoped. Did I mention the right shoulder? About 370 sw ft of file, floating wood floor, and luan (and staples) had to come up first. BUT, one less thing for my wife to  :mad: :censor: :mad: about. Heck, I have a Kirkeu and CCWs to be ordered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More seriously, here is my "exhausting" story. I bought the car as a toy that I knew I would be autocrossing. As soon as a MagnaFlow 3" system came available I bought one mainly because I could not hear the engine of exhaust while wearing a helmet, and I really like the feedback. In SCCA Solo Stock class this is allowed. The weight loss was good as well. When SP said they could do a 3" single straight pipe (no muffler or resonator, just pipes) I figured that if it was not too loud it would be even lighter. Well, it was not too loud so I used the SP during racing season and the MF the other five months of the year. When I changed classes I had to leave the MF system on as the catless downpipe made for a LOT of noise. Late this year I decided that I wanted to dump some weight off of the car. SP said they could fashion an exhaust with their own 18" resonator so I had them do it. It will certainly be lighter than the MF system. Since I have a hitch Jeff at SP needed a test mule for fitment and Shabby generously took the time to drive to Jeff's Canadian location for the fitting. As soon as I finish this bloody kitchen refurbish I'll hang the exhaust on the car. If it works out well, I may remove the RL rear facia and install a 2.4 rear facia !!!!!!!!

SnaponBob,

We bought a 1940 all original never updated small house 2 years ago.  You can only imagine what was in the house.  The bathroom was pink and green and the kitchen was 6X8.  Needless to say, I know exactly how you are feeling.  Three walls demo'd, an addition torn off and completely rebuilt, tile, hardwood, bathroom, new kitchen... and don't get me started on the yard!  The folks that we bought the house from owned since build and had gotten so old that everything was concrete and rock.  With two dogs and a love for grass and plants, that had to change....  man, I am tired just talking about it.

anyway, best of luck with the remodel!  Take your time, take beer breaks, and keep at it.  When the new mods go on the car and you autox for the first time in the spring, your knees and joints will feel much better.  I hope.
