2.0L LNF Turbo Charge tubes are available
« on: January 25, 2010, 11:45:56 AM »
We have a limited number of charge tubes that we made for the 2.0L LNF motors available.

The intercooler charge tubes from the factory have areas where the tubing is crushed down flat which causes turbulence in the air flow. Our tubes are custom made from aluminum just like the factory tubes, but are CNC mandrel bent for the best fitment and nice smooth air flow. Our intercooler tubes are a direct factory replacement for the stock tubes with simple removal of the stock pieces and then installation of the new tubes.

All of our tubes come with the mounting brackets on them like stock, which helps to hold the tubes in the correct place, and prevents the movement of the tubes, which sometimes causes the tubes to hub under the hood. The tubes come standard in a highly polished finish, for great looks and long term durability.

Installation instructions are included along with a silicone hump hose connector to make the connection to the turbo and all other hardware required.

Special introductory price of $160 for both tubes with mounting tabs, silicone connector and hardware to install

HIGHLY POLISHED, CNC MANDREL BENT BETTER FLOWING TUBES
KIT DETAILS:

    * CNC Mandrel Bent Aluminum tubing
    * Polished Aluminum finish
    * Includes mounting brackets for OEM fit
    * Silicone Hump Hose and hardware included
    * Factory Fitment

May I? Some additional questions?

- How big are these? If I remember correctly the stock ones are 2", these looks almost same, am I wrong?
- What airflow can these sustain easily without additional issues? I'm thinking to this from the perspective of a turbo upgrade.

The tubes are 2.5" with the drivers side flaring to 2 3/4" where it connects to the tube that goes to the throttle body. All of the larger turbo upgrades I have seen are using the 2.5" diameter tubes as under pressure you can move a large mass of air through a 2.5" tube at 20+psi.

Hope that helps!

Dave,

any negative effects if using the stock turbo?  Larger pipe ID means less pressure at same volume?  Thoughts?

Jeez Bobby any plumber could install this stuff, oh wait you are a plumber. Just bring a pipe wrench and a plunger you will be good. I might even help you as long as it doesn't make me plumber's dope.

No problems with the stock turbo and these tubes, the stock tubes are 2.5", so we are not increasing the voulume, just making smoother bends and not crushing things down.

Dave,

it's so good to know that there are people to rely on about our cars. you put an end to our fender scare for the future. thank you for that.

i am just curious why gm made the tubes in a crushed way in the first place??? what would be the reason. i dont think that they cut costs by it or anything???

The stock tubes are crushed for clearance of the upper radiator mounts and airbox. On the drivers side our tube is bent to give enough clearance above the radiator mount and also able to clear the hood, while making a smooth transition between the intercooler and engine. On the passenger side we use a spacer and the stock tube holder to hold the tube in place, it rests slightly on top of the stock airbox tab and clears the hood this way. The tubes can be installed and ran like this, or slight trimming of the airbox mount gives adequate room. If youhave an aftermarket intake it is not a concern.

hope that helps,
Dave

Dave, These look great, and they are cheaper then the (unnamed) vendor that I bought mine from. They have gotten out of the Kappa business. Thank goodness y'all continue to support the platform.  :thumbs:

Yeap,

We are going to get that option up there, just been a little crazy around here for the past couple days for some reason ;)

In the mean time, shoot me an email, PM or just place the order online and note the color you would like them done in the notes section of the order.

Thanks again,
Dave

I got home from work today and there was my box from DDM! I opened the box like a kid on Christmas morning! Absolutely beautiful product.  I forced myself to wait until Saturday morning to do the install but from what I saw so far my hat's off to DDM for another great product.
