I talked to Lyndon and told him when I wanted to come. he said just give a couple days heads up.
I plan on being there for 5 or 6 days. He said he could get the shift points right. That is apparently GJ's problem.
I always wanted to be famous. I think Dick Tune is great. I will copyright it and charge everyone for using it.:kwh:

I have had the Westers tune for some time now, and was the test car for the automatics.  I received an updated tune about 2 months ago that got rid of the limp mode for good.  It is really aggressive....if he could get a hold of the TCM and adjust it, this tune would be perfect.  Lyndon has been really busy with bigger projects, and if he would work on this for us, that would be a great favor on his part for us.  We are such a small part of what he really does, but he has always been great to us.  Someone get a car to him!!!! :)

Spicy,

Just ship yours to him for the month.  Will that work?

Just kidding.  I am as hopeful as you that we can find a way.  Got a few things in the works right now.  Will keep everyone posted as it develops.

Anybody know what the TCM looks like?  Is is right behind the ECM?  I assumed that is what the other module was, but have never confirmed that.

I might be willing to send you my HPtuners but 2 credits would need to be purchased to license your vehicle which would cost $100.

Kind of a crazy ? but since I have the original sensors and connectors that were on the vehicle and a spare ECM could I just put the original sensors back on and send the spare ECM to be re calibrated by Wester's?  Just thought since the connectors are just spliced on.  Would this work at all to sell the GMPP tune ECM and the sensors/connectors to some one hear for like $150-$200?

Holy Crap Dick!  What do you plan to do in Tilley for 5 or 6 DAYS?  The town only has about 11 people in it.  Heck, even Lyndon doesn't live there

Having your car that long may be just what is needed to get the auto tranny guys some lovin though, so I hope it all works out in April.

Tazz,

I didn't notice what year your car was, but ONLY the 07's can simply swap ECMs.  If you have the GMPP tune and sensors for an 07, just about anyone with an 07 and the same tranny can simply pop it in and go.  That does not work on the newer ones.  So, that being said, if it is an OH SEVEN, I would say go for it.  You can get more power out of Westers (and others, just to be fair) without all the added GMPP stuff.  HOWEVER- if you ever plan to change turbos or make serious air flow changes, the new sensors come in handy as they have a bigger operating range.  For stock vehicles, they do not make a difference.  Keep that in mind if you think that might be an avenue you may go down.

Also- on the HP Tuners, I'm guessing you don't have an OH SEVEN since I would need to buy credits.  Was hoping to avoid that if someone already had it loaded in.... Thanks for the offer!  I may end up with that if nothing else presents itself.

My guess is you are correct as to the module location, the manuals do not have a second module in this location that I'm aware of.

If Lyndon can crack the TCM do you think that would help out the ability to put aftermarket paddle shifters into place?  With rev matching of course :)

Never thought about that... always did wish it came with them though.  Drove an 09 Callaway Vette with paddles, it was flawless and have driven a Panamera with the puddleducklingkodfishliveroil shifter (PDK) and it was similarly fantastic.  Would be interesting to work it out for the kappa.
Does GM use paddles with this tranny in any other vehicle?

If someone created a paddle shift kit for this car, it would be the first thing that I would buy!  This car should have came with that in the first place.

Actuall it is an 07 but just not sure on the credit thing so that's why I mentioned it.
As far as doing anything else to the car NO.
If BIG DICK will be at Westers in April I might just wait to see what the outcome before  i decide to yank the sensor off and install the stock sensors.

You can get them aftermarket. I've even seen wireless ones so you don't have to rip open the steering column. Not sure what it takes to get the trans to accept the commands from the paddles

Tazz,

same here.  Wester's tune, 91 octane.  Other than the above issues, no problem with knock or ping.  You should be good to go.

91 here too.  Doesn't seem to be an issue so far. Once it warms up, I'll be doing some logging to get my tune tweaked, so we'll see if there is any knock retard going on.
