I've been talking with Lyndon and he is standing by that weekend to support us for tunes. Supporting members of this forum get the race tune for $495 vice $649 and for the meet - 25% off = $396.00

Currently I have the capability to tune with or without the GMPP, manual and automatics. Currently there isn't an option to tune the TCM.

Then forward your email receipt to KappaPerformance@yahoo.com. That way I can make sure I get to your car as soon as you arrive at the meet.

How this works:

- I need to read your tune and I'll need to know what type of intake you have, GMPP installed and type of CAT/Exhaust.
- Then I send your mod list and tune to Lyndon, have him program with your mod list.
- He'll send it back. I'll load it.
- You drive the car normally for about 20 miles.
- Come back and we'll take a ride with my laptop and save a scan.
- Send it back to Lyndon and verify you're good to go.

If anyone is on the fence, you need to drive Joe's car with the Westers tune. You will buy at any price and never look back.

The tune on the manual shift without GMPP is perfect and very very fast compared to stock.

Yes, Lyndon will be standing by during the meet. Get your payments in now so we he can process the credits to do your 09 Sky. It takes a day or so for HPTuners to respond with the new credits and it is best to have them ready before the meet so there isn't a delay getting your tune.

Joe,

One additional item- DickW is heading up to Tilley this month and one of his main goals it to give Lyndon some time to crack the TCM. I am sending a TCM with Dick to have it done as well assuming Lyndon is able to get somewhere with it. Having the tune on an Auto, this is going to be a huge step and something folks at MMM7 will want in on. I don't know what it takes to be able to do that to the TCM, do you? Will you be able to support the TCM tune as well? I don't know how many tunes for autos are signing up for the discounted price (GREAT DEAL BTW) but they should look in to this as well!

Getting the cat at the same time just didn't know if there was that much more HP with the shorty and if it was that much louder.

not any horse power gain from the shorty. just a better sound.

GJ, not sure, I don't recall any transmission tables in the HPTuners software. HPTuners doesn't show us everything either so it doesn't mean it can't be done. If Lyndon makes the changes via his own code and sends the tune, I'll be able to load it. We'll have to wait and see.

I would assume it's too early to have had any results from Lyndon's efforts to tune the auto? I have a second ECM. I wonder if I had the one ECM tuned by Westers and wanted to take it out for a warranty visit to the dealer, if the stock ECM would play well with the Westers tuned TCM.

Chuckdoc's car is an auto and his has been tuned for a couple of years. DickW is going to find out if the transmission shift points can be tuned as well. Any ECM that is compatible with your 08 GXP will be compatible with Wester's tunes.

Have to wait until DickW comes to meet to find out about the TCM

I know that Steve (Spicy) has the tune as well and I don't believe that he has had any issues.

My concern is if the TCM is tuned, the TCM will play nice with the untuned stock ECM?

SlyBob,

I am guessing it will be similar to the tuned ECM with the stock TCM. It will work, but it won't be ideal. The tuned TCM will most likely alter shift points, so if you put the stock ECM back in, it just won't quite shift at the right times. No danger in normal driving.

TCM's will not be able to be tuned at MMM7. They will have to be shipped up to Lyndon. He has built a set of bench cables for the TCM's so he can adjust the shift points etc... The good news- our TCM's are not nearly as uncommon as the ECM (at least, the 07 2.0 ECM) and can be had for a fair price. So far, the only person with the TCM tuned is DickW, but I am right behind him! Mine should arrive tomorrow! If all is well with it, I will bring it to MMM7 and others can try it (I am guessing it will work, as does the ECM, in the 07's)

I'm on the midnight train to Georgia. Then just a puddle jumper to MD. No security checks. Famous people don't go through securtiy, the HAVE security...
