Dal is short for Desired Air Load, its a parameter found in hptuners, basically boost control. You set an air(engine) load in hptuners, flash it to the ecm and the ecm adjusts boost to hit that parameter.

Top-left table.

SHABBY
Might be a DUH?
Exactly how do you read the over boost error setting in Engine diagnostic under airflow and what does it do?
And when would a person need to change the values.
Thanks

Don't worry about the values, just set the enable rpm to above your redline and forget about it :)

Kelu shared this great description on STFT and LTFT. It's part of the learning the engine can do.

Shabby: another question, in mass air systems, maf correction shouldn't be calculated referring lambda?
As you told me, you corrected the airflow based on STFT and LTFT, or I understood wrong?

Haven't seen anyone using lambda error on the lnf to make maf adjustments, might be a good idea to look into it, but yes im using stft/ltft to correct the maf.

This what I read, I'm reading general ECU tuning to learn, not specific LNF, Greg Banish said it not me  :idk:

Hey shabby just saw you post a new log in Mallard's thread. Have you turned it down to get to a safe place? If you are making 39lbs/min "safely" then I think you have the fastest stock turbo kappa, even more MAF than the big wheels.

Well im not getting those 30+ psi spikes any more, they felt good but that was just too much boost imo, its hitting around 25psi now and the afr is a lot more steady. Plus the power goes all the way upto 6750 rpm.
I don't think any of the big wheel users have pushed their tune as much as i did, they'll easily make more power than me.

Shabby: an idea came into my mind, in order to make those numbers clear for everyone (seriously you are making everyone jealous) before you will do a dyno, can you compare speed window times from your logs before and after?

I presume you do 3rd gear logs and pretty much on a flat road, so comparing the time before you went with GMPP calibration and after for doing 25 mph - 55 mph for example could enlighten if that airflow screams for more power

Good thing i kept all of my old logs, here are some times from a 3rd gear pull from 30-85 mph with different tunes, its definitely faster :drive:

9.01 sec - stock tune
7.03 sec - best hpt tune
5.39 sec - best gmpp+hpt tune

Wow, that is a fantastic change!  That is about a 40% change if my mental math is right!  (I have had a few sips of "American Forest" so who knows...)

If the same change were true of 0-60 times, you car would have gone from 5.5 seconds to 3.2 seconds!  That is super car numbers!  I know that the math is not representative of real life, but that is amazing % changes...

shabby: i have started to hate you and I have the feeling I'm not the only one
Many of my 3rd gear logs either start after 30 mph either finish before 85 mph, but I have found 2-3 with those values and I have a constant 6.5s time.

Time for some dyno!!!

Unfortunately No.
DDM wasn't able to get to mine.
Randy worked to 2am that night and Dave worked til 5am on the day that was supposed to happen.
DDM was taking care of people who really needed help due to either car damage, or something not working which IMHO is more important than me tweaking my tune.
I'll just have to wait a while.  No biggy.  My Car already runs awesome and the Valve/Coil cover should have added at least 15hp.  Once I drop the Type R sticker on the rear Bumper I should be at 850 RWHP

That was a good one.

It will be a while for me to afford HPT and a tune.
I'd rather spend the money for HPT on some painting/bodywork  I need.  I'm finally going to have the front bumper fixed and repainted and get a new driver wheel liner.
At the same time, I'll give them my rear badge, cobalt door handles and de Chrome the area around the fog lights.
