Don't know how you guys make those fancy maps, but RT 33 from Lynchburg, VA to Ripley WV is a great cruising road if you have the time to drive it.

1963 Olds F85, turbocharged, aluminum V8 with manual transmission and glasspack mufflers. At the time I thought it was very fast and it made the Route 33 run about 8 times in the mid '60's. In hindsight my car wasn't that fast and I wonder if the road was as tough as I remember it, but it sure was fun a the time.

Funny that this should resurface now, as I've got a hunting trip planned next month that will be taking place just off of 33 in National Forest that surrounds much of the road.

Have fun and let us know how the road is, unless you are going in a 4x4

Already been on it in a 4x4, went to scout for this trip. Stopped to fish in Skidmore Lake and heard a sport bike tearing down 33, sounded like fun. Lots of blind corners though, so watch out.

The 4x4 was far more fun once we left the pavement, of course.

Been down there many times, on a Harley, in the Solstice and once in a 4X4 in 12" of snow during a blizzard, I do not reccomend that one, without the snow it's a lot of fun.
