Was Nathan in the car at the time, or was it parked?  Is HE ok?

He was in it with his friend and both of them are ok.  From the photos you can see he was hit from behind ...

Or he was driving in reverse....

Glad he is ok.  Looks like the crash testing photos.  I just saw that.  Will have to find and post.  I think it was on the BB.

For those who do not know Nathan, he was one of the original solstice owners.  A wonderful person who was always friendly considerate and entertaining.  He became a person whose company I enjoyed very much.  This is a great loss to the solstice community and I hope he decides to buy another kappa and get reconnected with his kappa friends.

I lost my favorite car of all time in a similar incident.
Very happy to see both occupants were OK.

Glad Nathan & his friend are ok. You had me worried for a minute, the way your post reads I thought someone died (other than the car).

It clearly states "RIP Solavan." There is nothing that would indicate a person died.

If you didn't know he named his car "Solavan" it would!

It is a shame, another KAPPA is gone... Just makes you realize that in a heartbeat, some other person may take you or your car out. These cars are hard enough to find, let alone get them with what you want in them.  I just hope all are well, looks like a pretty tough hit. Whip lash would definitely be a posiblility and a sore "seat belt" area.

My best for the owner and his friend.

Yes, he is having some neck and back pain. Thanks for your kind words, Jeremy. I will pass them on to Nathan.

This sucks
I lost my favorite car of all time in a similar incident.
Very happy to see both occupants were OK.
Cars can be replaced, People can't.

I as well, lost my Victory Red Bright Primary 1995 Firebird Formula that we special ordered from Lotspeich Motors, Inc. in Warrensburg, Missouri.  It was equipped with the 5.7 liter SFI V8 when I hit a Red Ford F-150 truck head-on on Highway 169 July 27Th, 2005.  Both of us ended up down a 40 foot embankment just twenty yards apart.  The overgrowth helped us slow down.  Both of us recovered the accident and ended up at KU Medical Center.

Also, as a side note, I had lost the original engine that got me to 65,566 miles January 16Th, 2002.  I paid $4,500 for the new 280 HP V8!  What a shame to loose the Bird!  But the Bird eventually led me to our 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP.  I have vowed not to wreck "Miss Red Eagle"  See ya on the flip side.
