Solo exhaust final decision.
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:14:00 PM »
After nearly 2 years of reading, searching and discussing with various members, I made up my mind and ordered my new exhaust system today. I went with the Solo Mach Shorty and high flow cat. I wanted a more aggressive sound but not intrusive and without drone. More performance is also acceptable. I considered the Mach and catless downpipe, but wanted lower end torque rather than the higher range. Would have liked to hear the system in person before deciding but no one has it in my area. A big thank you to Jeff and Steve at Solo Performance. They always have time and a pleasant attitude for you no matter how many questions you have, what excellent customer service! I would also like to thank lil goat and Kelu for their recommendations and experience in regards to the downpipe and choice of exhaust. Since so many members have talked positively about my setup selection, I am certain I have made a good choice. Next step is shipping my ecu back to Lynden at Westers to get it reprogrammed for my upgrades.

Damn, you even fooled me, asking same question on private over this forum and BB and I didn't noticed and type all the novel twice.  :poke:

That is a great setup even is not matching mine at all, but we are not same but we have Solo Performance matching all tastes  ;)

Solo performance is one of the flawless mods on my car, I always find small issues in different aspects about my car and mods but is hard to find one about Solo even for me.
Nice combo Solo + Westers

Wow what a difference. As others have said, its the way it should have sounded from the beginning. I would recommend this combination to all those still sitting on the fence. It's louder, deeper sounds more like a performance sports car without being intrusive or to loud for the neighbours. Actually when I got home 2 of my neighbors came out to hear my new sound. One of them owns a GT mustang and was so impressed by the sound he said it sounded like his.  Did not drive much yesterday since I took out my ECM and today I will be sending it to Westers for a re-tune for the new Solo Mach Shorty and hi flo cat. Should be back early next week. Then I can play with my new toy. Unless you are a better than average garage mechanic I would recommend a pro to install cat. Because of the heat the bolts were almost welded in place it took much longer than planned as not to break the bolts. Great job Solo performance!
