  • Make or take?
I was playing around with this thing trying to get it to work with my racing seats and took it apart hoping to understand how it works better.

Here's pics for anyone interested.

Kenny,

do your racing seats have any padding on them?  How would you incorporate the sensor?  It won't be automatic, but could you wire it up to a simple switch?

Kenny,
never mind.  I just saw your other post on this with the sensor installed.

Hmmm... appears to be a similar system to the stock horn "button" in my Saturn VUE.  When that eventually failed, it was no fun.  The horn would randomly go off... a couple of times at around 3AM when everyone was asleep in the house.  That was while we still lived in Germany.  Ze Germans REALLY value their quiet hours.  :sorry: Anyone ever been shouted at in a foreign language by some sausage-swilling old man in his underwear?

The kicker is that to replace the horn button, you have to buy a new airbag... for ~$600.  I rigged an alternative solution.  Just hope it doesn't wind up embedded in my forehead (or my wife's) should the airbag ever go off  :gaah:
