What a weekend so far...
Driving from Phoenix into LA is stupid. I got off on the wrong freeway and had to backtrack 25 miles. Then I was looking for an ATM because of the toll roads I had to take and the first TWO I found were out of order. Then I get to the airfields for a test n tune to try out my R-comps for the first time...I start to take my stockers off and one of the lugs is coming off tough when all of a sudden it SHEARS OFF HALF THE WHEEL STUD.

Luckily for me, I have a spare one. I got everything torn apart, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the halfshaft out of the rotor to bang out the studs. So I patched it back together and tried to just screw on a lug a little bit to make it through tech, which I did. To unwind, I wanted to just get some In-N-Out and hit the beach for sunset. It took me 2 hours to find a damn beach...you'd think it would be easy enough to just look at the sun and go that way, but the roads in Irvine are all snakey and weren't taking me where I wanted to go. Left my hotel at 7pm, got home at 11pm. Ridiculous.
Wake up this morning and head to the event. Once I get there, I realize I left my cam in the hotel room. Then I go look at the entry list and its gone from 3 to 5...a rich guy (the inventor of light-up ice cubes) decided he wanted to leave his race car at home and instead bring his Cayman S. Ugh.
So the class is made up of me, the Cayman S, a '90 C4 Vette, and an Evo X. I'm thinking I'm going to get slaughtered because I've never run on R-comps and the course was REALLY open with tons of sweepers but few elements to let the Sky shine. I ended up finishing 3rd by 1.8 seconds!!! That freaking Cayman is ridiculous...however his tires look like they are about ready to cord, so maybe they go out there and suck it up tomorrow so I can grab a new set of Hoosiers

In the meantime, I want to thank SOB for referring me to John Berget tires for these Hoosiers I got. After the shipping mixup, I'm so amazed at how well these things grip the asphalt.
Videos will be coming tomorrow...
