My 315s on the CCWs (I have C16s - [got a deal, long story] and Alex has Classics, so I have about a 1-2 pound per wheel advantage) weighed 47 pounds. At least I will beat him on SOMETHING!!!!  :poke: :kwh: As for the alternator, it isn't much bigger than a softball. If was any small, it would be an idler pulley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Anyway - next are pics.

I lost 20 lbs in each seat with NRG fixed back seat from *bay. Another 20 lbs replacing the Walmart battery with a Braile 15 pounder.

Have you lifted a wiring harness in a modern day car? They are really heavy.

They must have weighed 5-7 pounds each. Seriously, with the tracks removed my seats weighed right at 28-30 pounds. The 14115 I installed weighs 11.5 pounds and replaced the OEM 36.5 pound battery.

Well, the Braille is installed. And it was almost dead.  :banghead: Jumped it just to get things going, shut it down, and put a light charge on it - per instructions.

Here is all the stuff. The adjustable hold-down and L-screws came from O'Reilly's for $12.

Here is where it will live.

Installed. Note the bit of thin foam as an anti-skid piece.

This shot shows a screw I installed to keep the pieces from slipping.

The supplied terminals are a bit more tapered than the OEM terminals. This meant that I had to really get the clamps snugged down well before tightening the terminals. Then the terminals were not quite tight enough, so I held my breath and snugged the supplied Allen screws a bit tighter. The wing nuts will be replaced with higher quality nuts and washers. But it is all tight !!!!

Maybe two months (that's how long it's been since I weighed them) cost me 5 pounds. In any event, Kirkeys weigh a minimum of 12 pounds plus a couple pounds for the cover. Then there is the weight of brackets.

I'm surprised you installed it up and down.  Better CG on it's side.  :)

Actually, the cables will not stretch that far. And it DOES sit very low in the car, doesn't it ?!?!?!

They'll stretch.  That is how how I installed mine. Just have to take up some slack to make it.  I take a pic tomorrow and post.

If mine doesn't stay put (I expect it will be okay), I'll look into laying it down.

SKY888 uses the same battery as I do and uses his car year around with no problems. I used mine for most of the year.

thanx Norm!
one last question, why choose B2015 that according to Braille in temperatures below 50F is reccomended only for racing, instead of B2317 (only 2 pounds heavier) that is reccomended by Braille for daily driving too at temps below 50F?

Not sure where your getting the 50F stuff but Sky888 lives in one of the colder climates in the US.  Besides mine overnight in the garage.  Those Lithium batteries look nice for $1900.  :)

I see how your computing the 59F for recommended for racing only.

From SKY888:
