Check it out, these were the first Lambo Doors that I had seen up close, and personal, and this picture was taken at the Nashville Meet by my wife Carol.  Pictured are Gary (garync), Allison, (Gary's granddaughter), GXPinKC (with the black hat), and another person (I can't remember his name).  That is my Aggressive GXP sitting next to Gary's.  I was honored that he chose this picture to be his avatar shortly after getting back to North Carolina.  These were the first Lambo Doors that I had seen in person.  There were none at the First National Solstice Meet in Kansas City and of course there were a few at the Nashville Meet.  Gary and I became good friends at the Meet and we shared the same table at the awards dinner and parked next to each other, the whole meet.

Thought I would share the picture with you.  If you want to post a picture of yours please do.

I love the look.  I used to get comments on just having a solstice.  Now with the lambo doors, I only have to put them in the lift position and someone always comes over to chat.

It really makes the car look great.

There really is no practicality only fun to have.  It is sometimes a pain in two situations.  1.  trying to get into the car with hands full as you have to lose the detent that keeps the door open.  You can lift it up but to do that, I have to put stuff down also door will not open anywhere close to what it did before.

2.  Passengers sometimes have problems closing the door.

None of these problems would keep me from doing it again and if I bought another solstice I would do the doors again.

I think you should see it in person and get in and out of the car a couple times and see what you think.  Come to Joes Garage.  Also wives generally hate it but I got around this by always opening and closing the door for Nancy.  Makes me look like the gentleman I am not.

Thats a good idea.  I really need to get in and out a few times.  The look is the best part.  I'm sure someone will have them at a meet I attend.

I agree with Chuck, there are more for looks than practicality.  But damn they look good

Maxblast and I went to the gym today, and he also got lambo doors installed at the meet....yet when he opens my door, he forgets that i have them and almost rips the hinge off...twice LOL.  The second time he pulled the door shut before it was totally down...I was ready to kill him.  He said he forgets on his own car because we are not used to it LOL.

I think that happens to everyone.  I almost hit myself in the nuts with Joe's door passenger door,  Joe Jr had a little problem closing mine.

That's why I recomend a little strip of rubber above and below the lock on each door.

Is that where it hits if its not closed correctly?  A picture maybe?

Yes it does. I'd post pics, but I'm about 7000 miles from my car right now....

That's why mine is not allowed out to play, especially now since Mike isn't here to clean it.

Question for those with the Lambo doors: With the doors open and up, and the windows up, what is the maximum height of the doors from the ground? Anyone have problems with clearance in their garages?

If you look at the picture with me standing next to the door, I'm 6 foot tall.  Also they aren't as high as the hood when the hood is opened.

Pretty much finished mine last night.  Still a few minor tweeks/adjustments to the hinges and fenders but all function as they should.

07 Deep GXP auto.  A lot of cosmetic upgrades but not enough performace mods. YET.
