 Solstice GXP led all the way, and had a quick lead on the 2010 Camaro SS with a rocket start off the line.  Camaro SS pulled only slightly closer right at the end, but it was a real horsewhipping as I saw it and actually viewed 3 times.  The sound was awesome and the front lights and parking lights of the Solstice GXP really looked awesome in the nighttime darkness.

I can't imagine what the 2010 Camaro SS driver was thinking at the end of the heat.  Awesome post, very sweet indeed!  :yay:

Thanks a bunch BlackSunShine for the thread!!!  :usa: :urock:

GXP killed the camaro at the start.   Very bad start from the camaro.

I wonder what happens if both had great launches? hmmmm..... :)

I have played with a few.  They don't seem to launch well.  Of course could be the driver.

you should drive his car, and let him drive yours! :)

if you kill him driving your solstice.....and you're driving his camaro.........it must be your great driving skills!

anyways, great video!  Nice to show them what a 4 cylinder turbo car can do :)

Who said anything about killing them!  I can't help it if they sit and spin.  :idk:   They catch up somewhere in third but I imagine their first thought is WTF!   :D    I don't think the 100+ temps help them much either.

C/D states:

Solstice GXP automatic 5.2 manual 5.6   0-60 (that's what I could find)

Camaro SS automatic 4.6 manual 4.9 0-60

Assuming the GXP is not stock, a good tune and tires will be able to produce the results in the video.  If the GXP is stock, then the driver of the SS is not as experienced as the driver of the GXP.

I am sure there are lots of other numbers out there, but that was what I found after a quick search.

Thanks Gentleman Jack for the times, I am sure the 2010 Camaro SS was a manual.  I looked up the stats:

http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/camaro/2010/review.html

If you wish to pull it up, very good review.  I will concentrate on the 2010 Camaro SS.  Just a few stats, and highlights.  If you wish to see the full report which is 10 pages long, go for it.

"The V8-powered Camaro SS with the manual transmission dispenses with 60 mph in a blistering 5.0 seconds -- 426 hp will do that for you.  Riding on a shortened and reworked version of GM's Zeta platform, which it shares with the Pontiac G8 sport sedan, the Camaro boasts an independent rear suspension and refined handling characteristics.  The 6.2-liter V8 in the manual-transmission Camaro SS is essentially borrowed from the base Corvette (automatic SS models get a slightly less powerful V8 variant).

The V8 on manual transmission-equipped cars makes a honking 426 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.  In our perfomance tests of manual-transmission Camaros, we've recoded 0-60-mph sprints of 5.0 seconds with the V8.

Thanks GJ.  What happens on paper and happens in real life are often two different things.  I found a 0-60 time of 4.7 for the SS but I didn't look to see if it was a manual or auto.  One of  the members of the BB had a 0-60 time of 4.76 with the GMPP tune.  Keep in mind the SS is NA and the temps have been 100+.  I think with a trifecta or westers tune we could do very well into 4th gear.  Your mileage may vary!

The other day with it being 104* i had a 4.72sec 0-60 didn't know if that was that good or not.  Forgot all about the DH having 0-60 times so Im wondering if it gets a bit cooler if the times might get better.  Wester's moderate GMPP tune 91 octane, GMPP CAI and catless.

We have small good looking torque monsters.
Not to mention, the guy in the GXP has just about perfect starts and killer shifts.
He really knows how to drag race.
I bet Kelu could take down a camaro in the same fashion.

Let's see, the 2010 Camaro Chevrolet SS V-8 Manual Transmission has a curb weight of 3,860, HP is 426, Torque is 420 ft-lbs.

Now the 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP Manual Transmission has a curb weight of 2,948, HP is 260, Torque is 260 ft-lbs. (No mention of a Tune on GXP?)

The driver in the Kappa hit all his shifts as near perfect as I could tell on the video and Solstice GXP won the heet!

Strut your chest out Kappa Owners, we have one sweet ride!  Are you freaking kidding me!!! :drive:    :2c:

I'm pretty sure that 4.72 is good. In fact I'm also pretty sure that 4.72 kicks serious butt.  :drive:
