Map sensor modification/Dejon
« on: August 15, 2010, 10:05:06 AM »
Recently when looking at the Dejon web site I found some gadgets that delays the amount of boost the sensors see for about 3 seconds. They claim our engine goes into a limp mode after seeing boost over 20lbs for 3 seconds. This could explain part of the poor performance in third and fourth gears. Has anyone used this product and does it improve performance?

No need of that anymore, that was back in the time when we couldn't pass the overboost limp limitation in the calibration.

HPTuners fixed this in summer 2009, we can hold 22-25psi even more from 3000rpm to the redline IF the turbo can provide so much, nowadays the limitation appears because our small sized turbine of our k04 and not the MAP sensors. I hold tons of boots, 19-20psi at 6000rpm with stock 2.7 bars MAP sensors.

Kelu I ordered the PTE 54/57 turbo kit from Dejon Went small because I need the low end torque. Will finally have a real down pipe instead of my gutted cat which actually worked.  Also order Werks 3 inch exhaust system since most tracks require some type of muffler. Since Dejon is moving , will not have turbo until sometime in Sept.  Sometime I will build a custom header system if I need it.  Thanks for your imput

Cool, keep us updated about how that turbo will perform on your engine.

 for a real 3" downpipe, that will help you to flow better with a bigger turbo

 for going 3" cat-back, I went with Solo's most "restrictive" cat-back called Mach and I'm happy with and works great for more than a year
