Special ONE Off Sky custom for Ben
« on: October 22, 2010, 04:07:39 PM »
Hello Ive had Bens Sky here for what seems forever as I still have to build parts for our regular customers who have been wonderful with me. Bens car has a lot of one off custom items that I will not offer as its too time consuming to make in production, for example the rear light bar took over 50 hrs to build (how do I make money on that, LOL). I will show some more shots over the next week on the rest. For now we still only make the Fenders and of course the rear facia diffusser. Ben wanted the rear bumper Saturn badge removed which we had to grind of and repaint (sounds easy) and  painted the Tulip panel along with the windshield header too. Hope you like them. Thanks Norm 574-255-7843

excellent work Norm, looks great, you would have to sell 100 to break even after you made the mold, and still never recoup the first 50 hours, unless you work for .50 cents an hour :)

Hello some recent pictures of Bens car. We removed the Saturn logo from the rear bumper, added some one-off custom rear winglets to go along with the side skirts plus they are cool mudflaps too, and changed out the rear backup light with a Opel GT one which was more work than I thought, oh well. Hope you like them thanks Norm

Very cool stuff Norm. So, no chance of that ever becoming available for the GXP?

Very nice Norm. Your a craftsman. Hopefully you will be getting an order or two as I gave your name and number to some people at the Tombstone show this weekend. They were admiring the fenders and side skirts on my moms car. Still saving for a hood!!!!

Hello Bens Sky has been here for a while, now we got the new wheels and she will be ready to go soon.
First the wheels are Asanti 22's 1/2" lip in the front 3" lip in the rear
tires are Pirelli's 285/25R22 P-Zero Nero and 245/30 R22 front.

One of the biggest hassles was the TMPS as we used the orginal ones of the stock wheels having to get new seals and barrels from one tire store then to Tire Rack to mount the tires as they wanted $140.00 ea for new sensors and seals since they would not transfer the stock sensors to the new wheels, thats why I had to go to a different tire store for the new seals and transfer. Seeing how this works I can understand why Tire Rack would not accept responsibilty. Just another hassle!
Also while watching the mounting process and seeing how close the TMPS were to the very low profile tires, I will tell you one big bump or run low on tire pressure the sensor will get damaged. Heres the pics, Thanks from Norm

two valve stems one for the air inlet and the TMPS

Nice wheels Norm. I like the colour as it'll look good with the car. I don't know that I would have worried about the TPMS though as it doesn't look like there is any room for air in those tires anyway. :D

WOW!!! Hope Ben is planning on trailering this car... looks like it might be a real PITA to drive with those rims. Worried of other drivers, speed bumps, and all the other hazards out there.
