WTB: Stock MAP/TMAP Sensors & Air Box Duct
« on: November 22, 2010, 05:12:28 PM »
Need to take my car back to stock, but previous owner can't find the following parts:

Temp Sensor (Part #12592017) - part #12 in the diagram below
http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/diagrams/large/2m9/intercooler-system-turbocharger-2m0300901.png

MAP Sensor (Part #12592016) - part #511 in the diagram below
http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/diagrams/large/2m9/engine-asm-2-0l-l4-intake-manifold-fuel-2m0001701.png

Air Box Duct (Part #25798986) - part #1 in the diagram below
http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/diagrams/large/2m9/air-intake-system-2m0300801.png

Hoping that somebody that has done a GMPP tune and CAI has these parts lying around.  I'll also need the pigtail/connectors for the sensors to solder back onto the engine harness, since the ones crimped on only work with the upgraded sensors that came with the kit.

bumping this back up.  i now have the sensors and pigtails - but as you can see in the pic below, there isn't enough wire to solder back on.  if anybody has those pigtails with more wire than the ones i have, PLEASE reply back or PM me.  i can't get my car back to stock without them!!

I believe you can pull the pins by releasing the locking tab and pulling it out. Then you can solder on new leads and shove the pins back in.

i thought about that, but i'm electrically challenged and couldn't figure out how to get the thing apart.  good advice though, i just need to find somebody other than the dealer that knows what they're doing to help me re-pin, if it comes to that.

Worst case scenario you can send them to me and I will do it. Probably only take 30 minutes. But hopefully you can find alternatives. You may be able to order them from the dealer, or find them from another GM in a junk yard.

dealer only sells the 4-pin pigtail, not the 3-pin one.  and i've checked all the local junkyards, no dice.
if you're offering to re-pin them, i will definitely not turn down your help!  i've got a few emails out to people that i know have the GMPP kit installed locally, so i'm waiting to see if they can give me their pigtails with more wire to work with.  if all else fails, i'll be in touch!

No problem. No promises, but I am pretty sure I can do it.

These long enough for you to use? Send me yours and the split spoke wheels off your GXP coupe and they are yours!
PM your address and send me yours, I'll send you mine in return.
Still have first dibs on those wheels though!
Did you get the ECM and intake issue taken care of ?

jebus, why couldn't the dealer that installed these on my car left that much?!  that's what i'm talking about!!
y'know, i've got a set of SSR's sitting lonely in the garage, ever since i sold my 'vert and got the coupe.  absolutely despised the chrome ones, but these street edition wheels have grown on me!  your name's at the top of the list if i ever get tired of them :)
they won't diagnose my engine hesitation issue until i can show them receipts that the dealer installed the GMPP kit (previous owner didn't give them to me, and the dealership didn't have any records, so they're claiming he cut and crimped them himself until i can prove otherwise).  but they'll gladly diagnose any issues if i put it back to stock.  since that's where i'm ultimately headed anyway, a usable set of stock pigtails had become the holy grail for me of late!!  still haven't found the intake elbow, but i have a friend locally that i might trade the CAI for his stock bits.

Take it to another dealer.
Looks like there just tring to hassle you since for 99%of the GMPP ungrades out there had to have the dealer upload the Tune for the ECM even if the person installed the sensors.  Even if that particular dealer didnt do the original install the dealer that did the install should have logged it under the history of your VIN#.   It doesnt matter who the heck cut and crimped installed the sensors just as long as the previous owner got the ECM reflashed by a dealer it's fine since I don't think anywhere on the sheet does it say it NEEDS to be installed by the dealer.  Same thing with the GMPP intake as long as it a true GMPP they should give a rats ass who installed it.

If you mess something up while installing the stock sensors they going to say what are you doing messing with that and screw you anyway.

i don't have the luxury of another pontiac dealer in town :(
i read the GMPP implied warranty as it affects the car and the GMPP parts themselves.  it expressly *does not* affect the factory bumper-to-bumper/powertrain warranties, i understand that.  however, it also says that anything GMPP-related not installed prior to delivery or by the dealer afterwards is only warrantied for *parts* for 12 months.  meaning that lacking proof of a dealer install leaves me SOL for any GMPP-related failures (i.e., the crimps, bad flash, etc).  see where having the receipt makes a difference?  all moot now, the original owner got in touch with his dealership and i have what i need to nullify an attempt by my dealer to have me incur labor out of pocket.  it's all good :)
