Sorry to hear that. Dealerships are like people. You got the good, the bad & the ugly.

Hope you find a Kappa you really like.

Well, looks like the dealership is playing some kind of a game.

After unfruitful negotiations over several days, I called to ask if they would meet me halfway price wise (my offer was $17k out-the-door and theirs was $17k + tax & doc fees ($281)) and for whatever reason they wouldn't honor their previous offer and now they want $18k + tax & doc fees.  Any of you guys ever dealt with such thing from a dealership ?

So, the search has been halted since the wife isn't keen about other color; triple black might be a possibility, but now we are just disappointed.

Only reason for that is they have other interest.

What acceptable color combinations are you looking for?

Other acceptable color combo is triple black.  I may settle with a black Saturn Sky as the interior (so far I've seen) is two-tone.  The two-tone parts can be swapped out for all black for moderate cost and effort.

We did walk away at the night we stopped by; however at that point, we were at $16.5k OTD and $17K + title & doc fees.  After that night, there were several over-the-phone (unsuccessful) negotiations.

My wife and I will cool down for a few weeks and then back on the hunt.  Too bad that we'll miss the deal for the DDM chassis bracing deal.  I was thinking about getting them first, then my common sense took over; let's put the horse before the cart :D

Welcome aboard.  If you're trying to deal on the GXP-R part of the reason you may be getting jerked around is because it was also posted on the big forum board.  Which means the exposure may be generating some interest.
Here's a SEMA sign link:

I'd classify it more as a showcar/collectible than casual/autocrosser type vehicle.

Oh, it's not the GXP-R we're getting jerked around.  It's this '08 Brazen.  My wife and I came up to a conclusion that the GXP-R is not for her (she hates the color).  I concur that it's more of a collectible car.  I'd love to be able to justify the GXP-R (more for me) **AND** a Brazen for her.

I suppose the topic will need to be changed ...

"Houston, we got a Kappa !"

It's a 2008 Brazen GXP with 10,845 miles as we picked it up this afternoon.  Manual transmission, chrome wheels, Monsoon, etc.  It seems to be fully loaded (except for an automatic transmission that is :) ).  It's the same car that we originally got jerked around.  Got it for the price that the dealer was asking; I came to realize it was still quite low.  Wife is ecstatic, she keeps dancing with a singsong, "it's mine, it's mine ...".

I'll post some pictures after I got a few things removed/altered; right now it looks just like a stock Brazen Solstice.

Sweet, POS VETT!  A fully loaded 2008 Brazen GXP with 10,845 miles is awesome.  Congrat's...Manual 5-speed transmission, Chrome Wheels, and Monsoon plus other ammenities, you are on cloud 9 right now.  Very happy for you.  What a looker for sure and the Brazen GXP was fairly rare in production numbers as I recall.  You will love it!  After some time report back your impressions.  Enjoy the ride!

LOL, thanks guys.

Planned mods are DDM braces, Magnaflow exhaust, GMPP (likely) tune,  IC piping, Koni shocks, Eibach/H&R springs, Addco sway bars (is there any other brand ?).

Another idea I'm entertaining is to change the wheel PCD.  There are a few ways of doing this, we'll see.

Appearance - debadging (Pontiac, Solstice, GXP, GM chiclets), insert/stickers for the arrowheads, color-keyed headlight eyelid (saw one on eBay), shorter antenna mast, fixing the window tint, painting side markers, rear reflectors, reverse lights, and do something about the foglights/turn signals (likely black out).  Is there anything can be done tastefully to remove the satellite radio antenna ?

Electrical - disable onstar, disable satellite radio, disable TPMS (if possible), disable DRL (if possible), and hard wire V1.

Those should put enough on my plate :)

I'm not sure about this ZOK sway bar(s); I have seen some reference to it/them.  Are these supposed to be GM racing parts ?  What other brands available ?

I'm going to have to stick with GM PP tune for a while since the car is still under 36/36 bumper-to-bumper warranty and I intend to get extended warranty for it and the Z06.  The Z06 and the GXP warranty expire sometime next year as both are model year 2008.
