GMA Harrisburg TUNERWAR Meet- February 20-22, 2009
« on: January 20, 2009, 09:41:11 AM »
GMAddiction has asked me to post information on this awesome event which they support each year.  I will probably be going and we want to get as many people as possible to attend.

General info : http://www.motoramaevents.com/tunerwars/

We have been looking to have a large NORTHEAST MEET for awhile now and have come up with a good solution to meet people and still have everyone entertained and warm.
Hence we have worked with the show organizers for TUNERWAR to come up with our first meet/carshow. This is open to Any GM sport compact car stock to modified.
This show is a great show with alot of entertainment such as motorcross , gocarts , carshow , stunt show , r/c cars , midget cars , classics , parts vendors , food and umm GIRLS
We will have more exact info through out this week but this is what we have come up with so far.
Carshow is $55.00 for registration and a full access 1 day pass for car and driver to all activities. For a significant other we have obtained free Day passes as compared to $10.00extra they normally charge. Having a car inside the venue and the free day pass for another is cheaper than just showing up and not showing a car. Anyone who pre-registers will have access to discounted hotel rooms as well as extra freebies for the event. We will have hotel info and pricing posted later this week. Those also pre-registered will be entered into our parts raffle for free product from some different vendors and gift certificates. FOR REGISTRATION YOU MUST PUT GMADDICTION in the CLUB AFFILIATION box.

ALL CARS MUST BE INSIDE THE EVENT FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE 10pm and stay there till 10pm SAT night.

Friday Feb 20th -
3pm - 10pm - Initial meet and greet with vehicle roll-in , setup and cleaning.
(We will have our own GM Sport Compact Section)
10pm - 1am - BUS RIDE to Hooters Mechanicsburg - First round of drinks thanks to Tunerwar for those registered. Food , fun , wings and getting to know each other.
1am - Bus ride to HOTEL

Saturday Feb 21st-
8am - 9am - Breakfast at hotel
9:30 am - Bus ride to TUNERWAR
10am - 10 pm - Car show and Other events
10:30pm - Late night Dinner/Drinks TBA

Sunday Feb 22nd -
8am - 9am - Breakfast
10am - Motorama Speed Day / Relax before drive home.

Here is the link for vehicle registration https://secure.webconnex.com/motorama_Tunerwar_2009

We will have more info up throughoutthe week such as hotel and added activities .
Let me know who's in and Post when you have registered so iu can check the status and make special plans for the number of peopel coming .

Where in the north-east is the event located? They must have buried it somewhere.

Awesome...I would love to go.  This is the company that makes lightweight pulleys for us.  I'd be interested in seeing them along with the show.

Steve , thanks for posting this up . Yes the show is in HARRISBURG PA. The event is a very good Speed event. There is so much going on. It is alot of fun for not only us adults but for kids and the family. Check there website for all the events going on and they have some videos of last years action in every section. This is a very large event. We are concentrating on the GM sport compacts and building our own section of the show . Any vehicles are welcome but we want to keep are section gm sport compact.
One of the great things about this show for those of us traveling to it , they have a wash area outside the show. That way you can wash the car up if it gets dirty along the way and then finish detailing it inside.
Also we will have the Tjin edition Cobalt on display as the solstice has been sold and is gone. I am trying to get from Neil Tjin some signed posters for all who show of the mobile 1 solstice for the show gift bag.
We will have our Show cobalt on display as well as Our solstice that may still be incomplete by that time.
We will have hotel info in the next day or so , but so far we have a show price of $77 a night and we are working on reserving a block of rooms. Anyone interested in a room please pm me so i can save a spot. The hotel will be giving us bus service to and from the event since our cars will be locked up. Also it gives us the chance to let loose friday night without having to worry about designated drivers. Saturday night the hotel has a sports bar inside so we will most likely eat and relax there after the show to help support them for there help and support of the event. Any questions or comments please post and ill answer or pm me.
Thanks Everyone and look forward to meeting all the new GM sport compacts lovers.

I will need help detailing my car also, especially since it is a daily driver.

Reserve me a room Kenny!  I am in pending the weather and I can get some people to go with me.

Everything is looking excellent for this show. Weather looks like friday will be clear but cold for the show roll in. There is a wash bay at the show for those that want a quick freshen up of there vehicle before entering the show where you can finish cleaning in the warmth. Saturday is calling for alittle flurries but we will be inside the show,  the cars will not see any snow. Sunday for the ride home is also going to be clear and sunny but cold.
There is still room at the hotel and you can still preregister for the show. I have locked in the prices just follow the info below.

Please let me know who has registered and who is planning on coming . I have to get the number of t-shirts ready , giveaways ,  and room at the restaurants. It is looking to be a excellent show with many activities and good weather for the time of year. I know you all have winter fever and need to get out and about , this is the perfect opportunity for a great weekend. Hope to see some of you there and get to meet some members so you all can see what we are about .
