Raciing School
« on: January 22, 2011, 07:15:10 PM »
After spending to much money on my car to improve its handling and engine horse power, it is time for me to go to school. I raced in time attack{high speed driving events] last year and won 3rd overall for the year out of 14-15 cars. Mostly corvettes in A modified. Not bad but the fact is I am way to aggressive in my driving and I am not smooth. [Spon out 5 times and crashed at Milwaukee Mile] So I enrolled at the Bob Bondurant Racing school Grand Prix 4 day coarse. I will be driving Corvettes for 3 days and a Formula Mazda on the 4th day. I have arranged for Mike McGovern to be my coach. He is also their Chief Instructor and has worked with such drivers as Jimmy Johnson ,Denny Hamlin,Kyle Busch,Kurt Busch and many others. I leave for Phoenix, arizona on Mothers Day May 8th

BenL has taken their course as well and had nothing but great things to say about them. Have fun, and be sure and give us a report when you're done!

Did a similar course with Skip Barber @ Limerock about 10 years ago. Great school! Just tell them where you think you should focus and a good instructor will do the rest. First step is admitting r have don falls with something we do everyday. Post up a review and some technica they used to help you out.

GJ your pretty close to Phoenix why not give the misses a mothers day present by getting out of her hair for a few days, drive over to Arizona and take the class?  If you get there before Graywolf (wink wink nudge nudge) take his prepaid place in the class and you will have nothing to be jealous of.  In fact I bet Graywolf would be the jealous one, but hey all you have to do there is figure out his flight itinerary and make a few changes like I am sure he wouldn't mind going to the school that all those Shriners learn how do drive those parade go carts, anyone know what city that's in?

GJ, the Shriners are going to be getting him so drunk he won't even remember that he was supposed to be somewhere else.  Besides Critter and I will send him a picture of Kelu and tell him its you.  Also think about it your going to have been taught how to actually drive your car Graywolf will only know how to drive a go kart drunk there's no chance he's going to catch you.  Like Critter said go for it, we've got nothing to loose, at least Critter and I don't.

Sorry guys ,I rarely drink beer. Your more likely to get me distracted with a hard bodied Co-ed. I do drink whiskey!! There is a book everyone should own that drives road racing courses called "Going Fast" form the Skip Barber school that is great.

I am familiar with the Bob Bondurant Racing school Grand Prix 4 day course.  They are fantastic.  In fact they had a reputation way back when we lived in Arizona from 1972 through 1977.  They are among the best in their field and you will have a blast and learn a ton.  Can't wait for further posts on this thread after you complete the course.  Good luck and have a blast.  Look forward to your progress and future posts.  :drive:  :agree: :usa:
