Hudson Valley NY road trip suggested by National Geographic

Saw this online at NatGeo. Maybe you guys have done some of these sights before. Thought I'd throw it out there for a potential 2011 cruise

Good find, Kenny! This starts in Nyack. I should have done this when I was up in West Nyack, NY at Poorboy's World. Maybe next time.

I think we've hit some of the areas mentioned on the Buds and Blossoms Run over the years.

The first year I did the B&B, we did drive up 9W from the NJ border through Nyack and Stony Point to Bear Moutain.  It was a nice drive, but lots of traffic lights so it made for a longer overall run.

And on B&B, we take 17A west to Warwick rather than 17M to Goshen.   (I think 17A is twistier so it satisfies the thrill seekers more).

Exploring further north up towards New Paltz after our normal stop in Warwick could easily be added to Buds & Blossoms if we started the run earlier.

To do the whole trip as described in the article, I think you'd want to stay overnight somewhere near the northern turning point of the drive, (Kingston/Rhinebeck.)

I'd be willing to help plan it if people were interested in expanding the Buds & Blossoms Run into an overnite trip to add some of these sites.

Anyone else interested?

I personally am not interested in an overnight cruise event. We just don't really get into the long cruises.

It's awesome! We <3 you Tom!  Glad to see you here.

I am sure you have lots of valuable input to some of these threads regarding mods, especially electrical ones.

For anyone that does not know Tom did all the electrical work on Spag's car regarding the install of the Opel GT reverse and tail lights. And a whole bunch of other stuff on other people's cars.

I'd be in for that.  There was a Hudson Valley run that may have hit some of the roads as well, I didn't look at the article to check.  I'd be in for a longer run as well.  Just need time to give notice for vacation days at work.

I'd be interested and the KRONUS crew is partially here. Just need to post on the subforum for them to respond.
