Here are the before and after of the meth:

and here they are in a little nicer looking excel graph format:

It was fun tweaking the setup and getting mike some more power. What was really crazy was when the car first showed up it was only making about 260hp. The reason was that the meth was spraying pretty hard without a tune to take advantage of the meth being sprayed. That is the reason that if you are going to put meth on the car, make sure you get a tune to take advantage of it, otherwise you are probably going to make less power and torque.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Thank you Dave for another strong documented modification

The difference in mid rpms is awesome
I have a question, my brain can't compute why there is a difference also in low rpms (under 3000rpm)? When the meth starts to spray?

The difference at low rpms is also from the meth being there and allows a little more timing to be added in without getting any detonation. The meth kicks in around 11psi on his setup.

Again THANK YOU MASTER YODA :D I thought meth comes in on full boost and I was thinking (wrong) the differences will be seen only after 3000rpm.

Damn, this is awesome, I can compare with my nitrous spray, overall this is better and I think is better on streets and AX, nitrous being more proper for drag racing or high speed straight racing.

NOS will definitely be a huge advantage compared to water/meth POWER wise.

but NOS only last for a few runs......then you have to refill it again.  Very expensive.

You only use NOS once in a while....or at a strip.  So depending on how big is your bottle.....you will be spending $50 and higher to fill it up....for using it at a few runs.

Water/meth....you can use EVERY SINGLE day.   Refilling it is very cheap.   You can use windshield wiper fluid for like...  $2 or sumthing.  That gallon will last you for a week.

POWER - NOS wins

if you want some power...........and great value for your money.......water/meth wins :)

Antonio seems you are not updated, there are nitrous controlers (I agree they are expensive) which allows progressive shots and can easily used on streets or even on circuit racing ;)

I agree about nitrous bottles, that's I have 2 in my trunk all the time :))

my friend has a NOS controller.

He still uses his NOS kit when he's at the track, and not on the street....since NOS refilling is expensive, which I stated numerous times :)

Good numbers, now go back to the track and see how much you can shave off that 13.5 at 101.90 mph.
Base on what you have on that Dyno you should click 12.6 - 12.7 with Drag Radials.

I will be getting water/meth put on at the mod meet with the 2871 turbo upgrade.  I am very excited...that's going to make some serious power.  I hope they are able to bring the dyno.

I will probably go 50/50 as well...I use the car as a daily driver and probably will set the water/meth to spray at around 11psi so it doesn't get wasted around town.

Arabas: you should put ideas into practice stop blaming various reasons  :slap:

to be honest, since my poor results with the big wheel, i would like to see the 2871 kit tested first, read people's impressions, hear some real life driving with it, maybe some track races against stock turbo and then go with it.

that and also 2 more reasons: short on money right now and worried about internals with higher power.
i would like to avoid meth, so, i will just wait to see what people that will try the 2871 w/o meth have to say about it.

I spoke with Dave today about internals....if we don't go over 400whp, they should hold up fine...he said with the 2871 and water/meth, I would be ok without having to change any internals.

i'd like not to use meth if this is possible, just to avoide the xtra cost, hassle and worry about it running out etc etc.
i like this kit because it is from DDM who seem to know very well what they are doing. at last a complete kit with full support!!!
but in my case, it will be more expensive, new turbo to work on (+600) and new ecm to be bought by ddm, tuned and then shipped to me (+around 250).

so i want to have a real good image of what i will be buying in the future.
Steve pls let us know of your impressions when you install it.
