I drove from CT down to DC in my Redline... Most traumatizing event of my entire life. Especially being lowered.

As can the Cross Bronx! It has potholes that will swallow a Kappa.

Diane...he may be more secure meeting up with us on the Garden State...let him merge onto the GSP from the Tnpke..just a suggestion.

If he is coming up from Philly, that would probably be a good stop for him.

Coming from Scranton, it will probably be more out of the way than it is worth.

Going home from last years L.I. Run I let Bryan drive and somehow we ending up in Manhattan and it was not an isue for Bryan until we went to get intop the Lincoln Tunnel!!! He never drove with so many busses and trucks inches away frim the Solostice before! It was clearly a learning experience for him. But I must say that he handled those 15 minutes with the grace of a Formula 1 driver and the bravado of a Big Rig driver (After he got over the initial pxssing of his pants looking up at the busses and trucks as the top was down).

So you at the run.

See you soon Sal.

Dengel, Sal and I both have lowered Kappas, will there be any issues with the current run planned with speed bumps, gravel roads, or just poor road conditions?
Not that it matters for me now that I have 45k miles, just think of Sal and Bryan.

Probably the only place you might have a problem is the winery we end at.  The parking area there is a combination of gravel/dirt and when that is full they have you park on a grassy hillside.  Got my car stuck in the mud one year when the idiot parking attendant sent me up the grassy hill into a mud pit.

For you guys, when we get to the winery I would recommend that you stay in the lower lot  close to to the road and search for spots down there rather than park up on the hill.

Spiky (Spicy) was there, he didn't have a problem with his car and that's definitely lowered.

shiNY,
Thanks for the info.

You're welcome! If memory serves me correctly there may be one left turn you have to watch out for. I only know because I was busy watching traffic and didn't see Dengel turn so when I swung around a little quickly to avoid other traffic I didn't realize there was a nasty drop/dip - scratched my nose :(  As long as you watch the car in front of you you shouldn't have that problem.

Actually, if you're the leader and you can make it, then everyone who isn't lowered should be fine! :D  Assuming of course that as the leader you are the one who mapped out the route in the first place.

Dengel, Looking forward to this run. Hoping for sunny day...

***How many people are going up to NHMS for Sunday, KAPPA Car Corral after this run? (Other than me)

I live about half way up there and would like to caravan with others if you are going.

Reminder to anyone attending this, bring a folding chair or blanket. We finish at the winery and if it's nice we can sit outside on the lawn.

I'm hoping someone can drive my car back home.  This way I won't have to bring a chair and I can just pass out on the lawn.  That seems way easier.

Although the weather is supposed to be in the high 60s...bring something warm..we r going Upstate NY....My money is on Willie52 showing up with Susan.

Rather than make a new weather post...weather is going into the 70s now.

Actually, we will be skimming along the NY/NJ border, maybe reaching places at max 30 miles north of the stateline.  Nowhere near Upstate.   :poke:

But even with that correction, Mike has a good idea.  We will be driving through shady forested areas that tend to stay cooler, so a light jacket of some sort is a good idea.

Everyone who is meeting at Exit 140 on the Garden State Parkway must be there by 9:15 AM...we must leave to be at State Line on the Palisades by 10:00 AM...so wake up sleepy heads.
