Tuning a 07 Sky 2.4l
« on: March 27, 2011, 02:05:51 PM »
My buddy tuned his GTO with the Hp Tuner and wants to tune my 07 sky 2.4, he asked me if it was wideband or narrowband and I pretty sure its narrowband but do I need a wideband?

Yes. It's narrowband. No, you don't need a wideband.

I would recommend talking with Dave and Randy at DDM Works or with Trifecta Tuners before doing a self tune. I think is great that your friend is good at tuning and wants to help you out to get some more WHP but our engines are a little finicky and a "bad" tune could be detrimental to your engine. I am sure any of our regular "tuners" would be more than happy to share.
Just a little advice. Nothing personal, and hope it all works out for you!

Yes, you need a WB 02 to tune your Sky, just like the GTO.

2004 and 2005/later GTO have different OS. The later should be similar to the Sky. At least you know you can get a used for $400 off of ebay.  :)

Having gone the entire route, from a cold air intake to custom exhaust, and tune.  You can get more out of the 2.4,  almost a second in the quarter mile.   Your buddy will need to buy credits to tune your car, and there may already be tunes out there on the tuner website.  Good luck.

Everything is bolt on.  I did upgrade the clutch, already had a long tube header and high flow cat, SQR-2 exhaust.  There is a thread on here about the installation with pictures.
