FS: 08 Brazen Solstice GXP w/GMPP upgrade
« on: April 25, 2011, 02:17:13 PM »
2008 GXP 2.0 turbo upgraded with GMPP (GM approved and warrantied) tune improving engine performance from stock 260/260 HP/TQ to 290/340 HP/TQ! Car has been lowered with Eiback springs and the chassis has been stiffened with DDM backbone and brace. Also have high performance front and rear anti-sway bars (rear installed/front not installed) and also have added 19" wheels with Hankook Ventus V12 tires. Car now handles much better than stock. Full asking price includes extended GM warranty. Paint factory upgraded to Brazen Orange making for a unique ride that gets lots of attention and positive comments. Fantastic top down driver with plenty of power and great gas mileage to boot. Never wrecked, garage kept. Never smoked in. Has upgraded sound system with XM/Sirius radio capability. I have a heated seat kit for the car but have not installed it yet. I am the 2nd owner and purchased the car with ~900 miles. About half the current mileage are highway miles. PM if interested and I can send pic's. Also listed in Auto Trader. Asking $18,900 OBO.

I am guessing it is a 2008 with 49k miles on it, and an asking price of $19k?

Will probably end up doing just that! I am not in a situation where I have to sell it but I have other hobbies I could use the money on. Either way will be ok with me. If I keep it I want to put a V8 in it and we know that isn't cheap...

Keep it and get a V8.  Your stable can't grow if you keep selling a car ...

CT Solstice - We currently live in Vegas and prior to that we were in FLorida so we have been lucky to have year round top down driving weather 97.354% of the time we have owned our Sol&Sky. I would have used the money for other hobbies but I don't have a problem if it doesn't sell. I figure I win either way! Just slows down the other hobbies a bit...

...of course if I keep it I have more things I will do to it so that slows everything else down even more! Things like Trifecta and Norm's fenders and hood come to mind and then there is interior work to be done and a V8 somewhere down the road and ...

Thanks for the pics, Brazen17, your car is awesome looking. Seriously made me consider flying out to Vegas and driving back to DC :-P

But ... my GF has other ideas. I think she's been saying "mid-life crisis" just a little too much to me lately. Maybe I can change her mind.

No worries.  I'm not sure how much I wanted to sell it anyway. With some other things I want to do it was the "practical" thing to do but my wife has never accused me of being practical!

I had to work on my wife 5 mths before she was on board with getting a solstice, mainly since we have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old at home and a convertible roadster is impractical for kids. My justification was between 2 cars seats in our other vehicle (dodge caravan), and 2 car seats in the in-laws GMC Terrain (they live with us in a fully finished walk-out basement apmt) there was a snowballs chance in hell I was buying car seat #5 and #6 for another vehicle for 2 kids.

Low and behold, (trust me I'm getting the morale of the story) the other night at dinner she tells me she's really glad we bought the convertible, it's prompted us just to take a ride the two of us a number of times.

So... tell her it's not a mid-life crisis, it's what you would have bought anyway when you were younger.

It's a sales intervention... seriously I still have a spot for you to park it.... the wife's on board... just leave the keys.

And hey, if I can encourage another to buy yours based on my experience well... oh wait that wouldn't be beneficial to you.  :idk:

With friends like you guys on the forum who needs...  :poke:   It's not like I  :drive: it much or anything. I've only put ~50k miles on it in less than 3 years!  :D  What amazes me is how tight it still feels and the lack of any rattles. I've had cars with much softer suspensions that had rattles after only a few thousand miles. It's an amazing little  car! (Sales pitch over).
