Fog Lights Inop
« on: May 05, 2011, 04:29:54 PM »
Went down the road to help out a non-forum retired Army guy that just got his '08 GXP back via the last DIVORCE settlement  :banghead: (Was #5 so maybe it will be the last one).  :yay:
He had not seen it since January and the whole car needs some TLC.

His Fog Lights will not light.  Checked Fuse 53, it was OK, Swapped Relays 54/55 no difference.

He has 12 Volts at the Fuse, but does not see anything at the connector for the Fog light (both)

Dash indicator light comes on when pushed.  High/Low beam position makes nary a difference.

Has anyone seen/heard of any problems in this area?    :idk:

Thanks-Steve

Check if there is 12V at the output of the relay.  If not, it could be a BCM problem (relay is activated via BCM, not directly from switch).

If the relay output is live, then it must be a wiring continuity issue.  Maybe the wiring was trapped and cut somewhere.

I had the same issue.  It was a loose wire under the fuse block under the hood

I had a similar problem with mine. A long time ago. I'll try to find the thread on SF and post the solution here just in case it will help you.

This is how they fixed it on my Solstice way back when:

CHECK CONNECTOR C3. FOUND WIRE 2234 NOT IN CONNECTOR E5.

Hope this helps.

That is near record time for a solution.  Compliments to all that posted factual and helpful information.  Exactly the kind of posts we need more of.  Since i am totally incapable of posting anything helpful, I must applaud when someone does.  If you need a laugh, let me know, that's my specialty.  Oh, and nudity, but that is in another part of the forum.
