FS: WERKs Big aluminum radiator SOLD
« on: June 29, 2011, 10:08:28 AM »
As many of you know I won a Performance Autowerks Big Alum Radiator at the Austin Nationals. Seeing as I have a first 1000 Solstice that is totally stock I don’t have a use for this radiator. I am excepting offers via PM for this gift certificate from WERKS. Here is the link for the radiator. It’s a $675 value.See their link for more info. Thanks!

SOLD! Thanks To All Who Looked!

Sorry, I missed the link, here it is. http://www.performanceautowerks.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1787&osCsid=979o58jj4e8lml51jh80s8fe30
I have a gift certificate good for 1 radiator and was told it was a $675 value. The price for manual trans is $675 with the auto being $75 more so I would assume you could upgrade for an additional $75 but have not checked that out with them.

The Werks website shows the same radiator listed for both the LNF and the LE5, however you might want to email them to confirm.
Go N.A.K.3.D..

For LNF or LE5 Kappa?

That probably begs the question.
You'd only need this if you were sticking a V8 in there or perhaps highly modding an LNF.  Otherwise, the stock radiator seems perfectly adequate.

Unless you are a mod-junkie.... which I am guilty.  I can think of MANY times in the past I have upgraded parts simply because I COULD! LOL it's what makes/made our country great!

The Solstice Perfomance book did suggest upgrading the radiator when turning the car into a track car. That was with a stock LNF, so anyone doing serious track work might be interesting in one of these.

I'm interested in this, but I heard the Werks car was having problems with overheating at the track at nationals.

If it's a gift cert, couldn't you just use the value towards something else?

Hello Im sure their problems were unrelated to the radiator. They could have had head gasket issues, pump or even an air bubble trapped.
