Annual MASSC Tubing Event - August 14th

For the fifth year in a row, MASSC will go tubing on the Delaware River

Date: Sunday, August 14th

Location:
Delaware River Tubing
2998 Daniel Bray Hwy
Frenchtown, NJ 08825-3011
Delaware River Tubing, Rafting, Canoeing, and Kayaking - Located in Hunterdon County

PRICE: $32 including tax, with an additional $6 parking fee. (A bit higher than last year.

) If we have at least 20 people we may be able to get a group rate.

I propose we meet at the Tubing Place at 10:30am, so we can hopefully get signed in and start tubing by around 11:30am.

After tubing we will proceed to New Hope, PA for some socializing and an early dinner.

What to bring:

- Money! (If we are eligible for the group rate, we will need to pay with one person's credit card and the rest of the folks will need to reimburse said person in cash)
- Swim suit
- Water Shoes
- Sunblock
- Sunglasses w/ strap to hold them on
- Hat
- Bungee cords (preferably with plastic ends, so we don't injure each other or burst any of the tubes!)
- Towel
- Change of Clothes/Shoes appropriate for heading to New Hope after (there is a changing tent located at the Tubing Place, but no shower facilities)
- For the ladies - something to possibly put your hair up with (see above comment about no shower facilities)

Bummer! Is it an all-day affair? Any chance you could stop into New Hope for dinner/drinks maybe? If not, I guess we'll see you for Skylands in a few weeks.

Oh, OK. By the date of your post, it appears to have happened while I was on vacation, which would explain why I missed it. I wasn't really online much while at the Shore.

I hope everything gets repaired quickly and to your satisfaction.

Just a reminder that this is coming up this Sunday, the 14th.

For those just planning to meet us for dinner, I estimate that we may get to New Hope around 4pm. This is just a guess, as our tubing time will depend on how fast the river is flowing that day.

The current weather forecast is not looking favorable for Sunday. Right now there is a 70% chance of T-storms, and I don't like the idea of having people out on the river if there is a chance of lightning.

I will continue to monitor the weather and hope the forecast improves, but right now it looks like we may need to cancel for Sunday.

If we wanted to reschedule, it looks like the next available weekend without a scheduled MASSC event would be Labor Day weekend (Sept 3, 4, 5). Please let me know if you would be available/interested, if we were to cancel for this Sunday.

Sorry everyone. Because of the weather forecast, which includes a chance of strong Thunderstorms, I am officially cancelling tomorrow's event. I am going to reschedule for the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, so keep your eye out for a new announcement soon!
