Do you think they need to shrink? The little one is big for his age

I don't think Elff will grow into them so they will probably have to shrink a little.

Malaysia was a pretty interesting race.  Who would have guessed those results?

My only observation is the penalty to Rosberg was NOT served on the pits, which shows at least to me the preferred treatment towards Mercedes.
See the issue is no one can for see what could happened to the car while idling for 10 seconds, plus the time going into the pits as many other drivers on past
races have done. The FIA gave Nico the 3rd place period.

The rule is actually kind of stupid, if you go into the pit to serve the penalty it's more than 10 sec because of the time it takes to enter and leave the pit with the speed limit.  So it's only served in the pit if the car has to stop for tires or something else.  It's the same for all teams so I don't see it as a bias, keep in mind when Nico got the penalty he was only 2 or 3 sec ahead of Kimi and had Kimi kept up with Nico he could have finished 4th but been on the podium.

I agree with SA,  They applied a 10 second penalty.  If there was more time in the race, and Nico had to pit he would have sat for 10 seconds before they touched the car.
End result would be the same.
10 seconds.
There was no special treatment.

Rosberg simply outdrove Kimi at the end and extended his lead by more than 10 seconds to get 3rd place.

You have to take into account the time it takes to get into the pits. The difference here is there was no tire change, which instead of that 10 second penalty should have been a little more severe. The FIA is not constant and that is my issue.

I can't recall an incident this season where a driver got a time penalty and served it in the pits without getting tires or something else done to the car.  Can you give an example of inconsistancy with regard to this?

LV, I gotta ask
What's your issue with MB?

If you look back through this thread, the minute they became the top team, you have claimed favoritism to the point of implying conspiracy.

If we are going to talk conspiracy let's talk about all the car failures that Lewis has had!  After all it is Nicco's crew that is working on his car.

SA, I do not remember the races, but next time it happens I will pointed out.
elff, I just see it that way ever since last year, the FIA and MB are a bit to close to me (my opinion).
Critterman, car failures have happened to both of them, I do not have a any miss givens for the drivers they both are exceptionally qualify, my misgivings are with MB and the FIA which seems to me to close for comfort.

F1 seems to have spurts of one team kicking ass under the current set of rules.
If the rules did not change, I think Red Bull might have had more championships.
MB, just managed to do a great job in adapting
but
Red Bull, has recovered well and is just behind them.  If they had a slightly faster engine, they would be winning right now as their aero seems to work well on all tracks.

I kind of see it as a normal Ebb and flow.  What weird, though, is that Ferrari just can't get their shit together

OO and one last note
McLaren Honda is getting their act together.  They have been damn good and mid pack for a while now.  If they keep this up, next year, they are going to be back in the top 4 if not 3

I agree Ferrari is not looking good, unless they get their act together. Red Bull keeps coming on strong and Ves will be a force to reckon with, as he gets more experience and maturity as a driver.
I also agree McLaren Honda is getting there, so maybe next year will the best for F1.

Interesting weekend to say the least.  LV the rule is the same for everyone 10 seconds added to a pit stop if they take one, 10 seconds added to their time if they don't.  Same thing happened to VES a few races back and he also managed to keep 10 seconds ahead.

I don't think MB would wilfully sabatage any of their cars, it makes them look bad.  In this case it seems they tried to use too light an oil and paid the price.

That race has some good driving.  Hamilton seems to have Mark Weber disease.  Bad starts but great races lately that prevent him from getting 1st place.   Still he mitigated the points well this week and last week, he would have had the win.

Any word on what happened to Riccardo this week, especially since Verstappen had a great race.

Ferrari might have made a strategy error, but 4th and 5th is still pretty good, just not good enough for the bosses.
Force India had another successful weekend and extends their lead over Williams.

I was hoping Haas and McLaren would have done better, but it wasn't to be.     Jolyn Palmer had a pretty solid race even if he was out of the points.

I failed to set the DVR, no problem it's on demand.  I hate NBC sports, the on demand program is 5 hrs long and you can't fast fwd.  I don't have the time to waste watching all the other crap when it should just take about 1.5 hrs to watch the race.  So feel free to talk about it cause I won't be watching this one.

I just tried to load it and NBC made me turn off the Ad Blocker and then makes sure you can't fast forward through the program. Sorry, NBC, but I won't bother to watch your rebroadcasts . . .

The second time I checked on demand the race was now a 2.5 hr show still couldn't fast fwd but the pre race was only 1/2 hr so I was able to watch it this time.

What is going on with Ham and starts?  If he just started like he was leaving a pit he would do better than what he is doing now.

He said the track was damp and he got a lot of wheel spin, but with the onboard camera, it sounded like he bogged down.
