P1 and P2 are available on espn dot com.   P1 I just watched, it is dry.   A good look up close at several of the cars and they talk about some of the changes for this year.  Haven't watched P2 yet,

Prerace sucked, fast forward to the last 10 minutes, the rest is filler and another program.

The race - well we can talk about that later.

Does this still have the same Shitty Announcers and crappy coverage?

My comments on the race.
it's a shame, it was won during a Yellow. But a rule is a rule and no one broke any rules today.   Taking advantage and stretching rules is the hallmark of a good strategy.  Kimi also got burned by that, but both Ferrari's drove exceptional laps all day long and they benefited from it.

Totally sucks for HAAS.  2 poor pits cost them the best result they could have had so far.   That aside, they looked to have similar speed, braking and handling to Ferrari,MB and Red Bull.  They just might have leap frogged the rest of the pack, but time will tell and they can not have any more complete failures.

McLaren proved without a doubt, with some additional proof by Toro Rosso today, that the issue was 100% Honda.  While Vettel won, I would put money on the fact that Alonso had the most fun today.  It's been years since he had a competitive car and he held off a charging Ricciardo for 10+ laps.   Vandorne also had a solid finish.

On to my dislikes.

These Announcers suck @$$ and so did the coverage and commercials.   All of sudden there was a second Yellow and filming completely missed Grosjean's issue.    The announcers did not know when the commercials began or ended and it would cut them off mid sentence.  On top of that, they need to STFU when team communications are being broadcast.  And what happened with F1 Grid??  Half of it had no volume, the other half was some show about golf????

I was highly annoyed  to the point where I fast forwarded through all of the split screens after the VSC was gone, and if this does not improve, I probably won't waste my time watching F1 anymore.  It was that awful

The squealing pig Brundle needs to control himself while announcing.  Split screens were worse than before and commercial after commercial.  You are right they didn't know when the US went to commercial and just kept talking.  I can't remember if Sky goes to commercial during the race or not.   Coverage was horrible, and it cut off right after the interview.  No talking to any of the other drivers and I noticed during the buildup to the race no one really wanted to talk to them.

Hopefully it will improve and ESPN will spend the money to get their own camera and announcers instead of piggybacking off of SKY

Does the S in ESPN stand for sucks?

Haas's double :censor:  up costs Ham the race who saw that one coming?  Oh right no one because it happened during a split screen.

Honda sucks almost as bad as ESPN's coverage.

Alonso has got to be happy he finally has a chance at a win now that he is rid of Honda.

Except it was 2 different guys, that was really pretty bad after the race position they were in, the only good thing was, it catapulted Vettel to 1st place.
Alonso was able to stay in the race for the whole period plus it posted a decent finish.
Ves seem a little rattle, his driving was not as good as last year, maybe is the new car, will see what he does in future races.
Kimi looked pretty good and so did Riciardo. Hamilton drove a good race but the stars were not align for him this time, Botas did OK.

There should never be a way you can go from 3rd to 1st during a pit stop while under a virtual safety car.  No regulations were broken, but the system that allows that is definitely broken.

There was a lot of good racing and more passing than ever before, and the cars are faster again this year.  There are some very complex front spoilers out there.

Bahrain this weekend.  Practice and Qualifying on Saturday ESPN2, race on Sunday on ESPN2.   That's where my DVR is picking it up.  Don't know if it is actually being shown at the original time on any of the other channels or not.  I couldn't find the pre-race either.
