After how difficult practice and qualifying looked, I am surprised at the lack of incidents.  Seems like the drivers really got it down.
Strategies were a huge part of the results and it was real interesting how Hamilton and Raikenen had issues that their pits could not tell them how to fix.

The new rules, do not let the people on the pits help the driver with those type of issues.
What is more telling is how Nico had the same issue and resolved it. Hamilton finally resolved it, but it shows how at times he seems to get rattle.
My hat is off to ALL the drivers, I thought also there would be accidents because of the layout of the track at some points.
Perez did a great job with his car, specially what he did at the end with Kimi. I think if Kimi does not improve going forward, he will not be with Ferrari next year.
I also think our American team is still doing a very good job, compare to some of the more season teams.

Yes it was amazing that there were no accidents other than a minor pump in turn one lap one.  The difference between Nico and Lewis was Nico set his wheel and the pits set Lewis wheel.  It was easier for him to figure out the problem.  I thought there was some great driving and more passing points than anyone expected.

Just finished watching Qualifying. Those Curbs are taking out a lot of control arms.

Last 3 minutes of Qualifying were amazing.

I agree LV if someone breaks a suspension part in traffic it could be horrific.

Elff,  I couldn't believe the track dried that fast.

Just finished watching it.

HOLY COW.  What a final 2 last laps.   Once again I think that was Rossbergs fault.   He purposely took a very wide turn, It almost looked like he aimed.   He Practically went straight almost like he wanted both of them to crash out vs let Hamilton pass.  On the replay, it looks much worse on the over hand shot.  If they had not touched, Hamilton still had the win.

Rossberg just tossed away a bunch of points and to be honest, after seeing what he tried at that turn, I think the karma train just bit him in the ass.

Rossberg was handed a 10 second penalty and 2 points for finishing the race on a damaged car.
http://www.formula1.com/en/latest/headlines/2016/7/rosberg-penalised--stays-fourth--after-hamilton-clash.html

Verstappen once again drove a great race as did Kimi.

Then there are 3 Bonus finishes.
Button(6th)
Grosjean(7th)
Wehrlein(10th)
Great job for those teams and drivers.

Last
How about those Red Bull fire suits

Poetic justice that Rossburg screwed himself on that one.  What a dick move.

I like the announcer that said if your brakes are going out wouldn't you brake earlier?

I agree.
IMHO he caused the wreck between them earlier in the year.  When a fellow racer is already at the edge of the track, you should not attempt to push them off the track.  He got away with that one, and he is lucky the penalty for this incident amounted to nothing and that he was able to finish the race.
He could have lost the championship lead if he was unable to finish in the points.

To me, this race and the entire year has me convinced that Hamilton is the better driver.  Hamilton had a couple of bad starts and more technical issues. He is going to turn it around and win the Championship again

BTW - What caused Perez to crash? They overshadowed that

Perez had brake failure from overheating.

Nico was at fault and if you watch in slo-mo actually turned into Ham at the end.   He is still saying it was Ham's fault even after the ruling.   Stewards reviewed the film and telemetry data and stated  "Hamilton was in the lead and was not allowed racing room."

2 points on his license (they remain for a year and if you get 12 total you are suspended for 1 race) 10 seconds penalty.  Basically not even a slap on the hand.  I think the team should impose a financial penalty (the cost of repair of both cars)

I thought the entire weekend was great.

Nico had the lead, better tires and due to his mistakes Ham caught up to him.  Nico then resorted to demo derby tactics and still failed.

I wonder how pissed the team is with Nico and just can't publicly say it.

A 10 second penalty I presume for the next race could be huge for him, if he happens to be in the lead.
Will see what will this week will bring, DVR is already set.

The 10 second penalty was assest after the race.  He was 14 seconds in front of Ricardo so it didn't change anything.  He still came in 4th.

Xactly
That's why I was saying the penalty amounted to just about nothing.
Personally, I don't think this incident was all that much different than the one in which they crashed.   Nicco went the full width of the track that time.

I really think Hamilton has him rattled.
