IPod cable to Kenwood headunit video solution
« on: February 09, 2009, 03:34:23 PM »
On Sat, Joe installed my IPod cable to my Kenwood 5120 head unit.  This allows the Kenwood to drive the IPod (New Nano) and make all selections and changes through the headunit.  It works perfectly with the exception of no video will play.

After a call to Crutchfield and following their advice to go to IPod, inside the IPod itself, then video, then settings inside video and select video out, it still was a no go.  The default is video out off by the way.

This is all done on the radio, not the IPod.
Well I started playing with it last night and found how to do it by accident.  You need to go to CRTL on the head unit, if the it is on LIST.  Press Ctrl and then you will see a scroll bar on the bottom line.  Near the left hand side is a tiny arrow.  Press this and more options will show up on the bottom line.  Keep pressing until you see the options, video and music.  Press Video, then select the music video you want to watch.  Press it and when it starts, press the picture in the top left hand corner.  It will work perfectly.

What a crazzy system.

I just thought I would post this incase someone else ran into similar problems.
