Strange how everyone says that it is hard to get the filter in/out .  I just had to push 1 wire to the side with 1 finger and the filter slid right out with nothing in it's way.

I also have no idea why the heck everyone says you need a low profile socket ....I could've done it with a really deep socket   :)

I just use a regular 1 1/4 Craftsman socket
Just trying to do my part...

I've been buying CarQuest parts and filters lately, trying to support a NASCAR sponsor of GM cars (Hendricks). After an incident today, I'm back to NAPA. I had to buy an O2 sensor for LadyT's Z71, and ordered it in the morning, and had it in by 3:00 this afternoon. $93. I got it, and the box was all dirty and taped up. I opened it, and it was USED! Walked out REALLY P'O'd, and went to NAPA. They had it stock, IN a Bosch box, new, for $67! Sorry Carquest, I'm DONE!

Wix filters for me, until I can find somewhere to buy a Bosch, so it's back to NAPA, a sponsor  of T%*#$A in NASCAR.

Switching to the high dollar Barney juice come spring, also. Here is an ebay link to a guy with a 100% rating trying to sell XPR at a REALLY good price:

I have gotten them from Rock, any one know how to say Bosch oil filter in Spanish, if so I can check the Autozone here but they never have much but a very nice assortment of dingo balls and chrome hub caps. I got K&N's last time from Amazon, same as the Bosch. I just wanted to see the difference, none, the Bosch is cheaper.

Yes...autozone should have them in stock.

It's a good thing i went up to the guy and gave him my year/make/model or else I wouldn't of bought a bosch filter.

I had gone in there with the part number that i got off the forums and i guess they've changed the part number.

Not to worry I had my last one from my 07 buy of 10 from Rock Auto Parts and compared it to the 3324 and they are identical.

I believe my father puts in a Bosche filter when he helps me change my oil.  I believe it is what he uses as a generic filter at his shop for most of the cars he does oil changes on.

I used Wix the last time with Amsoil full synthetic. I wouldn't do the Amsoil again but the filter is good!  :D

What do you need ramps for?

When I did the oil change on my GXP last fall I just reached under the car from the passenger side and pulled out the plug. No ramps needed.

Long arms are however, a requirement. :D
Or long socket extentions.
Thanks

I've read some terrible crap about Mobil 1 5w-30 in particular.  Im definitely going to be switching brands on my next oil change.  Not sure which one though.

On my Supercharged Ford I tried Amsoil and Royal Purple.  I think I prefer RP over Amsoil but I don't have a contact any more that I can get it a decent cost.  Amsoil was good also but since I was changing my oil on the Truck between 3-5K the cost was just more than I wanted to spend so I switched at about the 2yr mark to Motor Craft Synthetic Blend every 3K for 4yrs now.
As far as Engine trouble nothing so far and I drive that truck like I stole it on a every day bases.
Like I said I really like to go back to RP and if someone has a contact that they can get it at a decent price I probably would.
