I'd seriously considered coming, but unfortunately that's SAP go live weekend, and I'll be working most, if not all weekend  :banghead:

Oh Dear Gawd....good luck with that!  I'm lucky I can do my expense reports in it!

I figured out how to week through all our Purchase transactions the other day to see about a P.O. I've been working on.  I was pretty excited I figured that out.  Can't wait until I have to enter WBS elements in it.  That's gonna suck!!! :(

Good Ol ERP systems.

$100,000 for a piece of software that does nothing but provide a Login Page.
Then
After $5-$20 Million dollars worth of customizations and consulting, your company will then have a kludgey P.O.S. that still barely does what you need.

Add into that the dept gurus that seems to think we're HP or UA or Hershey, and vastly overstate the way the Sales force works...can we say PT Barnum was right? 4 weeks out SAP says we need 16 MORE app servers for CRM? There goes another 500k, between four huge IA servers, sw, components, and ME and ME alone to get all installed and ready.  :slap: The IT industry's version of the Money Pit. Oh wait, let's buy another pair of brocades, cuz I don't have enough switch ports

So some of you know I work for the world's largest food company. And not only do we have SAP, but we have to have our own version of SAP, which I'm sure makes it even less user friendly. So based on what you need to do, we have roles. All ineed to do is be able to see a PO, create and view work orders, and create expense reports. The last one requires one mandatory training session that was tolerable.  The first 2 require me to do several hours of mandatory training. It's mostly purchasing stuff and it's stuff I don't have a clue about. Of course I have not completed this training! But I can see a PO! Which is all I wanted!

So I've made it 10 months as of today and have done a good job of avoiding SAP so far! We even have an SAP sandbox to play in so we don't mess up the real thing!

Oh and we can't call it SAP either! Since it's our version of what SAP should be!

We have a global SAP project coming up to get everyone to the almost latest version.
The French love to name all their projects with stupid monikers.
This one, I found funny because it is called
Ambition

How appropriate

It's relevant...SAP hell is preventing someone from comming to SMMM9!

We can make it work.

This isn't though...for the world's largest food company, I swear we have the world's slowest network!  I'm typing this while I'm waiting for a drawing to open and I guarantee it won't be open when I'm done posting.  Frustrating.

Anyway...back to SMMM9.  Do we know about how many people are coming?  Here's the thing, I like to cook for a lot of people.  I don't like cooking for just me, so I don't cook often.  So since there was an East Coast meal last year, I told them I'd help do that again this year if there is interest.  Just wondering about how many people there may be so we can start talking what would make sense.  I have a few ideas in mind already.

Oh yay...drawing is open!

Karen, it was last updated in June by Joe, and today by me. I'd be willing to bet though that there are more than a few missing names.

Edit: When I said missing names I meant that there are probably more than a few people that plan on coming that havne't yet stated their intentions.

If you are coming to the mod meet please post here so we can add you to the list.
