2012 WERKSracing Solstice GXP NASA Results thread!!!
« on: July 07, 2012, 09:36:15 AM »
Hello all!  Here is our official 2012 WERKSracing Solstice GXP NASA Results thread!!!

April 21-22 2012 Autobahn South

Saturday 1st Place

The day started off great running a solid time and getting used to some new rubber from Hankook!

Sat. Session 1 video -

http://youtu.be/zPEyNU_aQ4A

Sunday 1st Place

The competition began to catch up, we improved our position by just a bit to hold off a hard charging BMW M3 by only .03 to take the win on day 2!!!

May 12-13 2012 Putnam Park, IN

Saturday 4th Place

A very low grip track did not yield fast times but we were able to learn about trying to get a better low grip setup out of the car on 15+ heat cycled Hankooks!

Sunday 3rd Place

Ran a bit faster but still not fast enough to get to 1st or 2nd place, saved the new sticker tires for the next event!!!

Here are a couple videos from the event -

http://youtu.be/lrcKGEMu5D0

http://youtu.be/BRkQON0Mon8

June 9th & 10th 2012 Gingerman Raceway (Long Course) South Haven, MI

Saturday 1st Place

The track was good with solid grip.  Grabbed the TTB Track Record as well!  Ran all weekend with year old Hoosier scrubs and still managed two first place finishes!

Sunday 1st Place

Ran the same time as yesterday to secure first place again for the day, saved the new sticker tires for the next event again!!!

Here is the Gingerman Raceway (Long Course) NASA TTB Track Record video -

http://youtu.be/A8CTROUOELs

July 14th & 15th Autobahn South, Joliet, IL

Had a great weekend again with close first place finishes both Saturday and Sunday, despite the hot weather the car ran great and the tires stuck to the ground like glue!!!  In addition to the 2 first place finishes I set the TTB track record of 1:35:0 on Saturday and then lowered it on Sunday to a 1:34:8!

Here is the track record video from Saturday, enjoy!!! -

http://youtu.be/86rSD6PhZa0

August 11th & 12th Mid Ohio

September 15th & 16th Autobahn South, Joliet, IL

October 6th & 7th Road America, Elkhart Lake, WI

I was thinking the same thing. I was looking at that in some of the turns he was taking and Rev matching. Looks like a F1 dash.

Yeah, I noticed it too.  It looks damn good!  I was trying to see what all was going on with it during the video but you can't quite make it out.

BTW, great job Dave G!!  Congrats on the wins and the track record!

I'm sure that it had a rev counter along with a shift light and I'm guessing(since it was in the gauge cluster) that it had speed and possibly engine temps etc.

It's PIMPTASTIC!!!!!

In order to determine the winners, what cars does the Solstice have to compete against?
