Annual MASSC Tubing Event - Saturday, August 11th

Well, we didn't have much luck last year due to weather, but let's give it another try!

MASSC Tubing on the Delaware River

Date: Saturday, August 11th  (alternate date Sunday August 12th)

Delaware River Tubing
2998 Daniel Bray Hwy
Frenchtown, NJ 08825-3011
Delaware River Tubing, Rafting, Canoeing, and Kayaking - Located in Hunterdon County

PRICE: $35 including tax, with an additional $7 parking fee.  If we have at least 20 people we may be able to get a group rate.


I propose we meet at the Tubing Place at 10:30am, so we can hopefully get signed in and start tubing by around 11:30am.

After tubing we will proceed to New Hope, PA for some socializing and an early dinner.


What to bring:

- Money! (If we are eligible for the group rate, we will need to pay with one person's credit card and the rest of the folks will need to reimburse said person in cash)
- Swim suit
- Water Shoes
- Sunblock
- Sunglasses w/ strap to hold them on
- Hat
- Bungee cords (preferably with plastic ends, so we don't injure each other or burst any of the tubes!)
- Towel
- Change of Clothes/Shoes appropriate for heading to New Hope after (there is a changing tent located at the Tubing Place, but no shower facilities)
- For the ladies - something to possibly put your hair up with (see above comment about no shower facilities)

Timing will be somewhat dependent on how long we take on the river, but I would estimate that we would arrive in New Hope some time between 4 and 5pm, with us being seated for dinner around 5pm.

Okay, kids.  I need to make a decision about tubing tomorrow. 

The current forecast is for Isolated Thunderstorms, with a 30% probability.

While 30% chance of rain isn't too bad, I am wary of taking a group of people out onto  a river when there is that much of a chance of lightening. 

So I think the best decision is to skip the tubing itself and just meet for dinner in New Hope at 5pm.

Actually I miss thunderstorms. Maybe we will have an overnight boomer during the mid meet. I'll be sitting by the dock of the bay, wasting time...
