Camshaft Position Actuator...or the dreaded P0011 Code
« on: April 22, 2013, 10:32:44 PM »
Ok everyone. I added another Solstice to the stable a few weeks ago. I purchased an 06 NA with 58,000 miles. It will be a daily driver from my 16 year old. Yes, she is in heaven. Shortly after signing on the dotted line, she advised me that the car was shifting "hard"(its an automatic). I took it for an extended drive and she was right, when slowing down somtimes it would downshift very hard. After a few days it kicked a CEL and I plugged in and got to following screen.

Ok, well I was going to post some photo but seem to be running into some kind of errors....anyways long story short, The intake actuator ohm'd out at 28.5 and the exhaust ohm'd at 12.7. I ordered and replaced both parts (located near the front of the engine) and the car is running like a top with no more hard downshifts.

Was that before you realized the power of a pair of pink socks.

Me too!  Bicycling is fun on gravel/dirt roads!  Especially right after the road grader comes through and grades the road!  Made driving a car or truck more interesting too, but I digress...
