Santana cup holder just a backup
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:05:48 PM »
Got the car home today and realized after a long drive that I hadn't called the insurance company to tell them it was back on the road. Ooooops!

The cup holder in the side of the console hasn't been working well for a while now and I figured I'd take a look at it. After removing it and looking at the under side of it, you can see where the plastic has been rubbing. The spots can be seen in the picture below where there is silver on the plastic bottom. Took out the single screw from the bottom and took a smooth file to flatten the offending spots.

After putting it back together it now works as good as new. Got the Santana as a backup just in case.  ;).  Here's the picture.

Just trying to do my part...

Oh... put the Santana in anyway.  It's sooo much nicer to look at and use, than the plastic one.  I often sit at a traffic light and just open and close it, cos I like the action so much :)

My holder broke, I bought Santana's cup holder, put it in, and yes it's much better than the stock one. And the action is smooth!
