WTB: classic pick up truck
« on: June 07, 2013, 11:32:09 PM »
I am looking for a fun, functional truck. I do not want a show queen as I will need to shovel dirt, rocks etc in and out of it. I like the 68-72 Chevys, but am open to anything decent. If any of you know of or have such a truck, let me know.

I recently sold a mid 2000's f250 ext cab diesel. It was far too big.

I'd prefer a smaller and older and more fun.

Yeah, or a short bed.

I'd take something like a 90s Tacoma ext cab too.  What I need is a cheap functional truck. What I want is something fun that could become a great keeper.

The extended cabs usually have a 6' bed.  You can't go wrong for utility with an F150.  Smaller look at the Ranger.

I've got a 2001 Tacoma GJ.. Plow snow in the winter..well 7 months ..and pull the boat in the summer.. had a 3 " lift kit an extra leaf in the rear and coil overs in the front to handle the plow...never had a problem in 12 years..good solid little truck.. though it rides like a covered wagon since the suspensions been beefed up for the plow

Yeah, that would be great. For me- no lift and nothing from the rust belt if possible.

A lift makes shoveling in more difficult.

You need a low rider.  You can drop it to shovel, and raise it to drive

Nah, not my style. A little drop is fine.
But, the functionality of an airbag system would make the work easier :)

Anybody selling?

Oh man...my dad traded his 66 chevy last fall!!!  I couldn't believe it!  It was my grandpa's truck, but it was sitting out at the farm and he wasn't using it much.

3 on the tree...wood bed.  It was a decent truck for stuff like that.  It kinda liked to wander though!!!  Ha ha.  Loved that truck!  It's going to be a nice project for the guy that bought it.
