So yes, it finally happened this weekend. The roll bar is IN the car.
I know roll bars in the kappas are a very controversial subject sometimes, so id first , before posting pics, like to politely ask everyone to keep your negative opinions to yourself. The odds are, my roll bar attempt is MUCH better than yours. Especially if you have none.
This car will never see sompetition, only practice/solo events. That is all this roll bar is supposed to allow me to do. That is all I want it to do.
That being said, INPUT is welcome. I do not need "engineers" telling me how THEY would have done it. Because they should do it themselves!
ANYWAYS.
The Design we ended up using was a double diagonal. worked out great, was able to miss hacking up the center console and I ended up pulling the storage compartment lid off and I now have a functional shelf lol. Aside from the main hoop. there are two brace bars welded to the rear panel. in my opinion, in the event of a rollover the weight would be supported between the two sides of the car and not just the one brace in the center that ive previously seen.
not knocking other members bars, but this is what we felt to be sufficient.
and without further adue...

NOW, these mods are NOT for the weak hearted. With installing the NRG quick release wheel, you literally have to remove your clock spring to make it fit. IN MY SCENARIO the pro's outweighed the cons. Your situation may be different. Same with my roll bar. I have to notch the two side kick panels and move the speakers elsewhere, but im ok with that small project. good thing I can plastic weld
