Solstice/SKY Paint
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:01:44 AM »
I am going to detail my Solstice this weekend and wondered if the paint/clear coat on the Solstices and SKYs is hard or soft? Or can it be both depending on whether it is a Sol (2007) or Sky (2008)? I did paint correction on the Sky and found the orange pad hardly touched it. Had to do several passes with M105 to get effective scratch removal (I should have switched to a yellow pad instead). I will use Menzurna FG400 and SF4000 this time out (start with the SF4000 to see how that goes).

It's my understanding that the clear is considered hard.  Since both models are painted in the same paint shop I would say they will be the same.

Start easy. Go hard.

Also- the detail master on this forum is Go-N-Def
Might try searching as I know he did a master detail thread a while back.
