Good by to the Coupe, and a possible new member
« on: December 31, 2018, 11:07:37 AM »
Saturday was a bittersweet day at our house. Rogue, the 2009 GXP Coupe, found a new owner. Without going into too much detail, the family ranch in Texas and ailing in-laws forced Pat and I to recognize that family dynamics has forced a change in priorities. I was able to find a good home for Rogue, and am happy to say that the new owner will properly appreciate and care for Rogue.

Neither Pat (GXPsy) nor I have been active contributors lately, but we have been regular lurkers. Not to worry. We are not going away. Pat loves her car and will probably be buried in GXPsy! Both Rogue and GXPsy have pretty much been bulletproof, so our need to ask and/or answer tech questions has not been an issue. Hence, we lurk as opposed to contribute. What a great knowledge base here on KP.

Rogue's new owner is Ben Huffman, of Chapel Hill, NC. He and his son drove the car from Richmond back to their home. When they got back I received a text message with a pic attached. Both were grinning from ear to ear. Ben's quote "30 mpg and Permagrins." He's already started picking up on our tech talk.  I've advise Ben to join KP. If/when he does I hope you will give him a warm greeting.

Sorry to hear of the coupe leaving the stable but know about changing priorities.
I don't have any plans on getting for of the Solstice any time soon but may be retiring soon. After the health scare my wife Denise had in January it's really made me think.
Oh she's great now but I'm wondering if I should go while both of us have our health. No fun to retire if one partner can't travel and enjoy life a bit.
Wish the both of you all the best and yes, I hope like Gentleman Jack and Elff have, you stick around and enjoy the calamity. Don't be strangers and be sure to do more than lurk as I know we have all enjoyed your posts over the years.
All the best to you and your family now and into the new year.

Does this mean I can't keep trying to sell Rogue to GJ now?

You can keep trying. Be sure to forward the funds to me. Oh....and GJ probably should not expect delivery......

Also, to clarify any possible confusion...GXPsy is still a part of our stable, and is expected to be for a very long time.

Sounds good to me, I'll just tell GJ his new name is Ben Huffman and we should be good to go if he happens to read this tread.

Sly Bob, notice how I got Rouge to stop lurking.

Ben got a good car, but only 30 mpg, he must have been pushing it a bit here and there.
