Hi all,
For Christmas, my wife stepped up her gifting game and got me new charge pipes and CAI from RPM-Motorsports
http://www.strictlyaftermarket.com/select-vehicle/saturn-sky/intake-exhaust. Pretty cool wife, right?
However, she got me the set with the BOV Bung. I'm not ready for that and I was advised that until i do some major work, that a BOV is ill-advised on anything less than 400HP (generally speaking). I will be installing a CAT delete and purchasing a HP Tuners tune once everything is swapped out.
So, other than the charge pipes, CAI, CAT delete and a new tune, everything else is stock. I don't want to do something stupid and I couldn't care less about the BOV noise. What I do care about is doing something with that big, gaping HKS BOV bung.
Questions for the more experienced folks on here:
1) Will it cause issues if I just purchase a BOV (a genuine HKS, not a knockoff)? Pros/cons of just installing one, please.
2) Is there a way to plug the bung hole? I was thinking a good gasket with a stainless steel plate, but then I'm not sure how well that would work. The flange for the HKS BOV screws on to the charge pipe, so I could possibly even try to find a thread-on cap, but not sure how I go about doing that.
Any thoughts and words of wisdom are greatly appreciated. I've searched the web and just can't find a solution on my own so here I am looking for answers.
Cheers, all!
PS. I tried to attach the photo of the bung, but in the "attachments and other options" area, I'm not supplied with a selection to attach anything. So, if you're curious to what I am talking about, click the link above and scroll half way down until you see the red charge pipes with the BOV bung.
