Service Air Bag
« on: April 29, 2020, 08:47:11 AM »
Hi everyone. I was servicing my Precious, Had to change the Battery. Done it a few times... no problem.
I changed battery and finished up other stuff. I climbed in the car to start it up.
I have a Service Air Bag on DIC. Did not have issue with it when I put precious to bed in the winter.
Did not have an accident, and I think that it is the drivers side. Only reason I say this is that my Bride and I went for a ride and the air bag sensor seemed like it functioned for passenger. It sensed that someone was sitting in seat.
I haven't been able to look further yet, I have been busy working.....(essential)
side note can't wait for normalcy....
Anyway could a fuse, a sensor, or a relay fouled up on Air bag? Any Ideas? Just asking, to try myself before I have to take her in. BTW, I did the recall on passenger seat a year or more ago....
Thanks

Had a similar issue with my truck a few years ago, turned out to be one of the sensors. Easily fixed, but needed something that could ready BCM codes to troubleshoot. Once that part was done (Local shop did it for free, sadly the owner retired and closed shop or I've give them a shoutout.) the rest was easy.

Thank You. I will have to look at it. I don't remember if my code reader reads airbags, I will find one.

It should have access to the airbag codes...but ABS on the other hand that can be a unique challenge.

My code reader does not show that there is an issue.
Going elsewhere for a reading....

  :banghead:  Found out the problem.
Mechanic I trust, found out that the sensing diagnostic module is gone. Only can be done through GM.
It sounds expensive.... :banghead:
Anybody out here had this happen and replaced?
