I've a problem with my new vents and can't solve it!
The chrom of my hood vents peeled of and so I decided to buy new ones.
Since Opel has been sold to PSA they don't sell any Saturn parts anymore.
So my best friend Sol Asylum helped me to get the vents from the USA.
I removed the old ones (with fishing line) and cleaned the whole area with alcohol.
Finally I installed the vents and everything looked pretty good.
3 days later we had a pretty warm day and the vents started to come off at the front and rear end.
I've tried everything, heating the plastic a little bit, pressing them into position etc, but nothing helped.
(Sol Asylum supposed that the adhesive has gotten too old / I supposed that they have been bend too much).
Finally I've been near by the local car wrapping company and I decided to ask them about my problem.
They told me that Sol has been right and that the adhesive tape is too old or it has been stored in the wrong place.
The company owner told me to buy new vents or adhesive tape.
He couldn't tell me which tape and where to buy it, because GM used a special heavy duty tape (maybe heat resistant).
Does someone know which is the correct 3M tape, Sol and I would appreciate any help.
(by the way is it possible that the spell check isn't working?)
