Turbo Help
« on: September 29, 2022, 07:50:56 PM »
Well, the dealer worked on my 2008 GXP and dinged the return oil line on the turbo and on the drive home SMOKE. They think the turbo is bad. Thing is it is a modified PAW big wheel which is not available. Dealer says they will pay for replacement. Can someone recommend a unit that will fit along with all plumbing that would be needed to fit. I am also running a Solo exhaust system with the 3" cat and the dealer really doesn't want to do (or have the setup) to do a custom install.

Thanks the site has been a big help in the past.

What are the specs of the turbo? Maybe post and see if anyone has one?

It's the stock turbo that was reworked by Dave to put the Big Wheel in it. This was done in 2010 I believe. I've had the car since new.

I guess the question then becomes what's damaged on the turbo and can it be repaired or could it be combined with a new stock turbo to build up a replacement.

You can always go back to a stock turbo and retune appropriately.

Thanks everyone. I have been talking with Grant at Turbokits and believe we have come up with a solution. I will let you know if it works.
